Graphics card spinning up full tilt

when running tld at selection screen ie survival etc the graphic card fans spin up to full, even after closing the program fans still running full speed. to stop I have to put the PC to sleep or turn it of to bring the fans back to normal.

Have you tried doing a clean re-install of your graphics driver? 
You can do that by downloading the appropriate driver from NIVIDIA's website or through GeForce experience, and selecting "custom" as the install option

That's a video card problem....you could send this bug to nvidia if you wanted.

It's actually more likely that it's a video card driver problem, something in TLDs code is making the graphics driver think it needs more cooling power to handle, or the graphics driver is corrupt and something in TLDs code is setting it off. But since everyone's graphics card isn't doing this (let us know if someone else has the same issue) than it's more likely to be the drivers fault.

drivers reinstalled with the latest driver and clean install of tld,still having th prob

mmm in that case, try submitting a support ticket with all the details you can provide 

The other possibility is that some software has a fan curve set for TLD (MSI Afterburner, for example) that is set to ramp up to full when TLD is opened.

Other than that I don't know what the issue could be.
