In an island full of rugged backcountry folks, there are bound to be some boozers. What happened to their alcohol? It makes sense that some of it was stashed away, or even if looters took it, then we might find it in their dead bodies.

I therefore suggest the addition of three types of alcohol: Whisky (or whiskey, depending on your origin), Brandy, and Moonshine.

They would be classified with your other remedies ;).

All boozes are found in “servings” of 0.10L. They would reduce the sleepy eye by 10% and inflict a level of tipsiness, causing varying degrees of lurching while walking. It might also give a tiny boost to condition?

The differences would be as follows:

  • Whisky: Gives 5% warmth bonus, will speed up hypothermia recovery by 20%.
  • Brandy: My personal favorite. Gives 10% warmth bonus, speeds up hypothermia recovery by 15%.
  • Moonshine: Double drunkenness, 10% warmth bonus, speeds up hypothermia recovery by 25%.

...they drank it all...

but it you want to have that in your game now, there is a mod that will introduce beer, wine and vodka into your game.  Then there is the alcohol mod that mimics the effects of drinking so you can actually get drunk and stumble around!  Both mods are very well done and definitely add some fun to the game.  You should check them out.

As rightly suggested by @piddy3825 there is a mod for what you are looking for, I also believe that the warming effect of alcohol is a bit of a myth.

Myth: Drinking alcohol warms you up and fights the cold.

Fact: Alcohol produces a momentary sensation of warmth by dilating blood vessels and directing blood to the surface of the skin, but within a short time the body's core temperature decreases and you feel colder.

This can also allow the option of creating Molotov's. The addition of Molotov's could also give them a reason to put gas in vehicles. Plus, the empty bottles can also be used as a distraction for predators, and they can have a bigger area of effect than stones. Maybe the Molotov's can be used to scare wolves and block predators from charging you directly. For example, if you're in a choke/small area like a cave or approach a cave with a bear in it, you can throw the Molotov at the entrance to create a fire wall. It can also help if your surrounded by Timberwolves. The addition of Molotov's could also tempt Hinterland to add Timberwolves to a few more areas like Pleasant Valley or Timberwolf Mountain. Right now, the description for Pleasant Valley says it's 'in the heart of Timberwolf country'. I was actually surprised there wasn't any there on survival because they are there in the story.
