Future DLC Idea

I've always wanted to explore the barred off areas of mines/caves.  Allow us to use hacksaws to open those up and have an underground exploration DLC.  Maybe add other useful minerals, helpful mosses/fungi, and of course, miner's bodies with some notes/history of the mine cave, etc.

Perhaps introduce a pickaxe to explore rubble-filled passages/collapses and can be used to extract other types of minerals or even harvest coal from the mine itself.

Well the next region is Langston Mine (Industrial Mine Region) so I'd say you may get your wish my friend.
