Drives me crazy

So I can tear up brand new work boots with my bare hands to make scrap leather but I need a knife to get cloth from an old pillow or chair cushion AND it wears out the knife.  

   Argh.

I actually agree, it's ridiculous. Even wooden boxes can be torn down by the mighty Astrid hands! Can you imagine the power of her hugs?

Also...

...I can walk across planks as a bridge between two points (upper dam catwalks), but I can't move planks to make bridge of my own. (I understand that this is an issue of lacking dynamic pathing in the game, but it's still silly and annoying.)

...I can chop up planks, but not ALL planks (the planks leaning outside the camp office). (No excuse.)

...Anyone who's spent any time camping knows its perfectly valid to drag a limb over to a fire and burn it from the end OR burn it in half instead of having to chop it up with an axe (or hacksaw). (I understand this is an issue of lacking a drag mechanic in the game, but it's still silly and annoying.)

...I can tear up crates and (some) chairs with my hands, but not a table or a bench or a shelf(!) or a broomstick(!?). (No excuse.)

...I can rend a pillow on the floor with a knife, but not a pillow at the head of a bed. (No excuse.)

...I can drink tea or coffee to warm up but not freshly boiled water. (No excuse.)

The game could certainly use a sense and consistency pass. Just one person to go through and change some things to make sense and other things to be consistent within the game world. It would make a big difference, at least to me.
