alunasmoon
so i dont know if im crazy or what but when i use to use flashlights i could charge them at the aurora and they would stay charged till they ran out now it doesn't matter and they wont work unless there is an active aurora this is just odd? or did i imagine it... stratvox
No, that's exactly how it works; it only works during the Aurora. It's been that way for as long as I have used it.
UTC-10
It has been suggested that, since the flashlight "recharges" so to speak when the aurora occurs that the flashlight should retain a short-lived deteriorating charge when the aurora ends. It can be a problem, since the aurora does not seem to be consistent (i.e. when it starts it goes all the rest of the night), when one is using it to see as one hurries along or trying to fend off an aurora wolf when the light goes immediately dark when the aurora ends.
