It has been suggested that, since the flashlight "recharges" so to speak when the aurora occurs that the flashlight should retain a short-lived deteriorating charge when the aurora ends. It can be a problem, since the aurora does not seem to be consistent (i.e. when it starts it goes all the rest of the night), when one is using it to see as one hurries along or trying to fend off an aurora wolf when the light goes immediately dark when the aurora ends.
