Adjustable brightness for PS4 PLEASE

Even in daytime I can't see a darn thing inside most places. I see PC players in teh same places and you can at least kind of see in teh darker areas. ON PS4 it's pitch black without an external light source, which on Interloper is hard to come by.

I play on PS4 and can navigate most interiors fine.  I'm thinking you need to adjust your TV or monitor settings.

Adjustable brightness in general... why is it that I can only change my game brightness when I install it and not from the display settings?

I'm able to do that, just not while I'm in-game. I have to close the active game and then I can change the brightness from Options -> Display.
