Extensive list of wishes!

So here's my extensive list of wishes i would love to see in the game

1> Sit down on a sofa/chair.

A small tweak like this could add allot of character in a game, especially if you can read a book while sitting, and gain a small rest bonus while doing it.

2> Mental state system,

From confident,  nervous, distraught, frustrated, happy, determined. scared.  Adding small perks and negatives to each state as well. Your actions determine your mood. Your mood determines what you do next. Failed a few times to make or fix something?  you get frustrated and get a negative hit chance on fixing anything for 1 or 2hrs. Sneaking around with your rifle/bow out around prey?  You are now in hunter prawler mode. small hit bonus? or stealth bonus?  Eating well and staying well fed?  Healthy,  carry limit increase bonus. etc

3> Musical Instruments

Saw the idea floating around by others, but add a harmonica, guitar, would give a nice niche and character to the game! Would help with mental state above =D

4> backpack / carry overhaul

instead of the one infinite backpack slot,  Add backpacks (already in the game) with different sizes, durability and limited backpack slots., from school one (small) to military ALICE packs.  Each backpack has X amount of slots for items.  (separate from weight capacity). If you are over weighing your backpack, aside the speed penalty you also degrade your backpack durability faster and have a X % chance to have a random item drop to the floor per hour due to shifting.

5> a bucket..

Yes.. a bucket, how are you melting snow without one? =D Oh and you  may need it to collect some soil.. (see veggies below!)

6> a shovel

How much easier it can be to make snow shelter with one? and you may need it to dig up some soil (see veggies below)

6> Non Potable water from lakes.

Why is this not an option when you go ice fishing? aside ocean water (obviously) you should be able to get water from lakes and even waterfalls (huge chance of getting wet there though!)

7> bring Fluffy back!!

Some older players know fluffy very well. There's a nice huge outdoor cave transition i think by either forlorn muskeg or ravine..  you can put Fluffy in that cave and the player will have to face off with him before transitioning over past the caves.  Make Fluffy's fur special and you can make a white wolf toque out of it.

8> Indoor greenhouse? / Veggies!

Eating lots of meat is generally not advised without some greenies to go with it.  Add the ability of crafting greenhouse equipment (pots.. soil.. seeds.. need a window/sunlight.. etc) You will need the aformentioned bucket and shovel to find some good soil to use.. (*cough* good soil by the farmlands.. =)  Maybe even add some fertilizer at the Farmstead in PV!  You will need to water your plants =D and watch them grow. Some will fail and not produce at all, but others will give fruit! Successfully harvesting veggies can give you small cooking points. "Combining" meat with veggies can give you a balanced meal bonus, staving off hunger allot better.

9> Primitive Firestarting,  hand drill

Would love to see this for harder levels like stalker and interloper.  Matches are a very rare comodity, give you a box of 24, (12 in interloper) to start the game and then. they become very rare. Go to the crafting menu and with your knife / hatchet create a hand drill. spindle and fireboard and have at it (Fir and cedar wood) . consumes tinder and sticks. At low levels its a pain to get started, and has a % chance to cause a hand sprain! The more skilled you are at firestarting the easier and less time it will consume and eliminate the hand sprain. Your spindle and fireboard degrade over usage. Fire is life out here folks!

10> More predictable weather patterns and "the big one"

Is it me or it seems like the weather is very sporadic at times from clear to blizzard out of nowhere? Id love to see gradual changes in weather to predict incoming blizzards. Add the rare "whiteout" blizzard late game in survival mode (stalker and interloper) with the player giving an audible cue of "the big one is coming soon"  giving you about 48/72 hrs to prepare for a huge blizzard that will last several days.

To add to  the Greenhouse idea..

Craft items to be made or foraged, but required:

Pots: Cooking pots, pails, cans from food items

Soil : Need a shovel to dig out dirt, and a pail to carry it with you.

Seeds: Add these randomly in the game, from random stores to Farmstead, etc. Different kinds too with different maturation and watering rates.! Potatoes, Tomato, Lettuce, Brocolli, Carrots, etc)

Water: Can be Non Potable. Each plant will have an amount of water required to grow.

Optional: Fertilizer! Increases the x % factor of a good yield!  A must have for begginers!

Optional: New Book! The Joys of Gardening A guide to everlasting fruits!

> Create a new skilltree "Farming"  As your kill increases the better chance you are able to produce veggies % chance. These % variable can be tweaked of course for balance. Skilling up can be based off successful 'growth" of a plant, or can be based off successful harvesting

Skill 1 - 40% base chance of growing Veggies

Skill 2 - 50% base chance of growing Veggies, 20% less water consumption.

Skill 3 - 60% base chance of growing Veggies 30% less water consumption. 40% chance of foraging Seeds

Skill 4 - 70% base chance of growing Veggies, 40% less water consumption. 70% chance of foraging Seeds, 30% more calorie yields.

Skill 5 - 80% base chance of growing Veggies, 50% less water consumption. 100% chance of foraging Seeds, 60% more calorie yields.

Mechanics:

Must  have a pot, soil and seeds to begin.  Using the pot you add your soil, and chose your seeds. with optional fertilizer to increase base chance. Each pot "item" can only hold x number of seeds. Example: Pails can hold 4-6 seeds. Cooking pots can hold 3-5  and tin cans can hold 2-3.  Soil has its own "durability" and after x amount of harvests (10- 15) require changing

Once the pot is prepped you must place the pot in an area where it has as good sunlight, Plants can only grow in "indoor style" areas, they cannot grow in -C areas and will die off / not grow. You must water your plants with water (non potable water is OK) Each pot can have a "water meter" (For lack of a better word) that gauges how much hydration is left and if it needs to be re-watered. Keeping the meter low constantly will affect plant growth  You could also add a sunlight meter to see if its getting enough sun where its located.  Plants will take several days to mature and propagate and proper watering is required. Water your plants too poorly or poor sunlight decreases odds of maturing vice versa if you stay in the green with water and sun, the higher chance to yield (base +/- 10%)  Some plants mature faster than others, slower ones will yield higher calories (potatoes),  some are easy with low maintenance, some require an experts touch.  You can add a visual look to healthy and poorly growing plants too. The water consumption boost on the skill tree affects how quickly your water meter depletes down.

Three end stages can occur:  1> The plant fully grows and yields fruit. You can then collect your fruits and if your skill is high enough you will get back some seeds also. 2> The plant grows but does not produce fruit, this happens by either not watering correctly or poor sunlight. You have a chance to forage seeds back if your skill is high enough. 3> the plant dies.. does not grow. Improper watering or poor sunlight no recovery, its a loss.

Plants grown don't have to be food either, you can also grow medicinal plants as well!   This would add a great boost to the affliction tree and can open new ways to treat yourself.

I agree with everything said in the first post, except farming. The main problem I see is that it would shift the game from surviving in harsh conditions to living daily in comfort. The whole game would be changed to "Farming Simulator". Not even noting the fact that nothing will grow at low temperatures (even a greenhouse would not suffice).
