We all dread making that trip up TWM in the Hopeless Rescue challenge, so I'll save you the trip, in omoon66's version of Hopeless Rescue.

Your train has crashed in an event of a mysterious geomagnetic disaster. It looks like no one around you is alive. You must know if there's any way to contact someone. Find your way through Broken Railroad to Signal Hill in Pleasant Valley.

There's my description of this challenge. The rules are simple:

1. You must start in Broken Railroad (obviously)

2. You must be either on Voyager or Stalker

3. No feats

4. No mods (I'm not looking at you Stormwolf :D)

5. You do NOT have to have an auora night to complete it, since you would possibly be sitting there for days waiting

6. Post a screenshot of Signal Hill AND your journal when you're done (the stats section, where it has current sandbox, and all time. I will be looking at days survived)

If you somehow get less than a day, sleep in a bedroll for an hour, and it will tell you exactly how long you've survived. Take a screenshot of that if you need to

So there you have it, omoon66's version of Hopeless Rescue. I will starting my voyager run of this soon after I post this. Good luck! :hatchet:

Fun challenge. :D

I did this on Voyageur since my play time is limited this week.  It turned out to be pretty quick since the wolves still hadn't spawned in by the time I got to signal hill:  10h 6m.  (I walked into the hut to force the save, so no need to deduct an hour for sleep.)

I tried sleeping an hour after the save -- no time elapsed message.  I guess because I did the whole trip before midnight?

Log -- it's all one day.  In the second screenshot I scrolled down the list of locations visited.

As for strategy, I looted all the food and clothes in the hunting lodge and maintenance shed.  Two cups of coffee, no stims and some rather warm clothes.  Then I sprinted as often as possible through BR and FM, checked the camp office for coffee or a stim (no luck).  Same for the dam (no luck).  Then straight through to Signal Hill.  I didn't sleep or stop to warm up in any way, so I tried to stay well fed instead.

Got there in the middle of the day dead tired. Had stims...but that felt a little cheaty so didn't use them.

Nicely done, being a brave soul on Stalker! Thank you for the recording too (when it comes) :) But I think stuns are fair game, if you're lucky that is.

No problem! I'm trying to think of another one once this dies down. At first I thought this would be too easy, on Voyager, yes. But Stalker, I can only imagine crossing BR and FM with a crap ton of wolves :wolf:
