Ohbal
Yo guys! Another of this recurrent thoughts I've been having these days while playing TLD is that it would be quite cool if maps were to suffer from weather/time patterns. The first couple of implications that came to mind were snow barriers at the entrances of caves and pathways after blizzards. Player would need to open a path through it to get in or out! ... while it sounds cool I understand it'd demand a lot of work on snow dynamics and such. So yeah, probably just another bubble Collapsed tunnels on mines that we could clear to gain access to new areas was another idea. Maybe expanding the tunnel system allowing the player to "hacksaw through" some of the barrier corridors (screenshot). Broken tree-bridges on the ravine and TWM came to mind as easy things to modify... player needing to create a plank from reclaimed wood, for example, and place it there to gain access And that lead to the final though, which was that it would be great to made the player work their way and gain access to new zones by some short of task. Tunnel is collapsed? you need to expend some time clearing it up. Broken bridge? Find the way to fix it! How does the concept sound?
mystifeid
Sounds like fun the first time, after that I dunno...
cekivi
Neat for the game but if your survival strategy is "hacksaw to access unsafe areas of abandoned mines" than the weather and fluffy are probably the least of your worries
