Books in Challenge-mode?

Are there any books in the various challenges? I've played 20+ hours of challenges, and I haven't found a single book yet. Is this supposed to happen? And if yes why?

challenge mode is a short term game, isn't it really? 20-30 days max, I'd reckon, so books are kind of redundant. they only really apply to long term games.

@EternityTide Depends which challenge. In nomad I'm currently on day 60. and will probably finish it on day 75, but even when you play it as good as possible you'll need at least 55days. (15shelters*3days+10days travel)

It would be good to have books in Nomad, give you a reason to hang around inside some of the places without one.  Like the Rural Store.  Haven't found any yet.  The Nomad challenge is the only time I've ever just stood around somewhere with nothing to do.  Normally, I'd just blow through those places and move on to somewhere else.
