  1. Great lol I've effectively created my own personal Mandela effect
  2. No, Ive crossed that trestle a bazillion times and remember my first time way back in the day. I honestly think I just spawned in Blackrock and forgot, it was a long time ago and I think I died rather quickly not knowing a lot about the game and mechanics. At least I know now that it wasn't in Desolation Point. Thanks!
  3. For a long while now, probably since my very first run in survival, something has bugged me about this game. Correct me if I'm wrong (please, for my own sanity), but wasn't there a bridge connecting Crumbling Highway and Desolation Point at some point? I remember it being a bridge very much like Narrow Bridge in Blackrock but longer and more dangerous. Maybe I just spawned in Blackrock and my in my first playthrough it seemed more than it was at the time due to it being new, but I'm not sure. Anyone else remember this or want to tell me I'm misremembering?
  4. Looks like the a chibi xD love it
  5. I've found the fishing skill to be a bit tedious too but the mechanics are fun so I don't mind all that much. If I'm understanding correctly the tipup doesn't actually level your fishing though. Only manually fishing does. If I'm wrong feel free to correct me.
  6. You know, I was kind of wishing for more symbols too even before I made this. When I establish a base in game I usually mark the door just to make it a little more homey and personalized. Hence where I got the idea. Also when I return to the spot it's painted, I'll be reminded of what I was doing at the time Hinterland should do a contest for painting haha.
  7. Soooo I may have got a bit creative with the spray paint mechanic lol feel free to show me yours if you have one!
  8. We'll get there! Determination and survival is key.
  9. Thanks! I'm doing quite well in this run and learned from the previous run as it was my longest to date. I'm ready to not only survive but thrive!
  10. That's actually something I thought to do, however as I said, it had happened previously and the game placed me in another location so I carried on after saving and restarting. This time I'd had just killed me. I was expecting the previous results but nope, instadeath.
  11. I found it lol thank you
  12. For the longest time I didn't think you could fall from the rope bridges. Sure there's openings and one could simply just veer off and fall to their doom but I'm on console and I seem to just slightly bounce off the rope railing usually. Never tried the open spots for obvious reasons.
  13. It finally happened to me lol. When exploring the mine in Blackrock for the noisemakers and code to the door at the prison, Astrid woke up with Will's voice. It switched back rather quickly but for a bit it was hilarious. Thankfully it's not game breaking for me and all is normal again.
  14. Update: As some of you know, I recently had to restart due to a glitch/bug. When I spawned in day 1 I found myself in Blackrock near the power plant in a cave. I figured ok cool I'll just rush over to the prepper cache and get the recipe and a good amount of starting loot ...no such luck. It was abandoned this run and I only found a bag of stale chips lol. Bummer....
  15. I generally avoid Ravine and HRV whenever possible. They're my least favorite places to be. As for the rope bridges, the first one I ever crossed was the one leading into Blackrock and it terrified me. There's no easy way about it. You either dart forward and hope for the best or tiptoe over them.
  16. It was right after the trestle and leading into Coastal Highway. As soon as i passed the gap I moved right before the loading screen to CH and fell through the environment. I have also passed over that trestle a thousand times and only came out with the worry that I might fall but didn't. It's actually kind of funny in a way, I always thought if I was going to die in this game it would be on that trestle. Irony. I didn't exactly die on the actual trestle but it was in the same area, I just think it's humorous. I remember the first time I crossed the dangerous gap on my first playthrough, I didn't dare to cross it for a while. When I finally mustered up the courage and found Mystery Lake I was delighted. I avoided that trestle like the plague and went through Pleasant Valley as much as possible coming back from Coastal Highway for the longest time. I soon learned it was too much of a burn on my resources and time so I was just really careful when I did have to go over the trestle. I'm sure I'll go over it a thousand more times.
  17. I'm trying to be optimistic but man it was initially frustrating. Maybe it was a blessing in disguise. Maybe starting over will make some things not bugged anymore like certain recipes and mementos. I'm going to leave a rock cache where my last survivor died as a cairn of sorts. Starting over really isn't that bad and I'm going to make the most of it.
  18. No but I should. It happened before in PV outside the community center and instead of dying I was placed at the entrance to the mine that leads to Coastal Highway. Happened twice in a row. I figured this last time would be like the two previous times but no, insta death.
  19. I got to 397 days, stockpiled huge amounts of goodies and resources, braved all TLD had to offer for traps, predators, death defying treks across every region, and what happens?? I fell through the damn WORLD today in ravine right AFTER passing the gap in the trestle safety. I'm not only disappointed but angry. I was going for my first 500 day run and now I have to start over!
  20. I'm not holding my breath sadly. Hoping the BI memento issue was fixed, I made that trek to be let down yet again. Of course I hope you're right.
  21. I'll look into that! I think you may be right about a future update and the can recipes. Sucks things get bugged....I even clicked around hoping it was just invisible, nope
  22. Can someone please tell me how the fishing bait is made/crafted? I cannot for the life of me figure it out. I even tried using chips and crackers. I'm clearly missing something. Also, what's with the recycled can recipes? I see an option but no recipes. If I have to find them that's fine, I'm just wondering if my game is bugged. The reason I ask is because I knew exactly where to look for the Thompson family stew but it wasn't there.
  23. I had heard of the new Preppers Pie recipe being in one of the prepper caches and was dreading it. Right before the recent update I had literally just looted all the available prepper caches in every region and now I had to make the long trips to each one again to find the recipe. One of these treks being to Blackrock. I've made my base in Mystery Lake's Camp Office so this was going to be quite a voyage. I decided to get this slog of a journey over with first and check there for the recipe. I finally get to the cache and there it was, in the very first prepper cache I checked! I almost cheered out loud lol. It's just wonderful when a long trek is work the effort. Cheers survivors!
