Seems like you are not playing interloper since the update, or you're in a bubble

    seems like your rude :)

Most of the people here said it works why didn't you quote me saying all the things he says doesn't work does? Seems like you just wanted to pick on my friend and apparently he left this site now.

I'm not saying he didn't deserve to have his post deleted for swearing maybe he did but your post should be deleted also as your fully implying that he's stupid by saying hes in a bubble for saying the same thing a bunch of us said.

Torches and flares do work almost 100% of the time. You just have to know when to toss them. Wait until the wolf runs up to you and then stops, then toss it at their feet. They run always almost always if you get it right

And are you sure throwing torches and flares works on interloper? I always assumed it didn't work so I never bothered trying it out.

I thought the same had no idea flares and torches worked on interloper.

Sorry Raph, but you shot way wide of the mark with the timberwolves - all punishment and no reward.

I kinda agree at least on interloper difficulty I know there are some people who I'm sure love timber wolves being added @stay puft I'm sure thinks this is amazing but most of us aren't able to live 3000 days and kill 500 wolves in one run so whats the reward for average loper players to go fight them? from what I've seen nothing it's seems the new region and timber wolves are put in simply to punish the best of the best (on interloper) and I'm just not that good at killing wolves(using PS4 controller) to want to risk a long term character for almost no reward so to be honest I don't think I'll be going into the new zone for awhile. If ever lol

Or even those SMPTE color bars stations broadcast when the station goes off the air.  Most TV stations are on 24/7 nowadays but Great Bear is consistently described as being way behind the times, run-down, and falling apart.  Actually showing something (anything really) on the TV's would liven up the interiors quite a bit.

And it'd be fun if radios periodically play ads for Summit soda, or Stacy's Grape Soda, stuff like that.  Little polish items that aren't important, don't really change the game in any meaningful way, but add charm.

    100% agree!

I don't think Great Bear still has/had such a thing after being battered by The Collapse so hard entire villages are abandoned.

It defiantly has a radio station and radio towers everywhere that's where we get the music from on the radio's during an aurora.

Most little towns have some sort of local news even if it literally is just little news paper or what have you and Hinterland will most likely never add this but theres always a way to add something like this, small local news on channel 2 or some local reporter that gives local news on the radio.

Hm. Not going into the business of spoiling Storymode here, but as far as I understand it apparently the rest of the world isn't really aware of what is going on on Great Bear. It's not like the radio is playing emergency transmissions either.

Ya but we can still find out things that are happening outside of Great Bear or it can be local news clips and there should be an emergency transmission on the radio sometimes. Someone that works at a local news or radio station must have mention the coming cold/weather unless the temperature instantly dropped as soon as the aurora event happened and it literally went from "normal" weather to extreme weather in an instant and if someone left the music on the radio playing on a loop then it's possible a TV station has an emergency broadcast playing on a loop.

Also aurora activated TV clips seem like a geniunely good idea to me. Like some random ad playing, and then a few scenes from a random 3am Twin Peaks rerun. I'd dig that.

I was actually thinking along the lines of little news clips that would give the player a little bit of info on whats happening in the world or it could be some type of emergency broadcast put out to the people of Great Bear.

"if its superfluous, why even develop it".

I know your just making a joke but to elaborate on that a little TLD to me feels empty/lack of world immersion in a sense and I don't actually mean to say the game isn't immersive cause it is but there's a lack of interactive items in the game... I understand that a lot of this stuff is technically pointless but I feel that having the ability to interact with random things like toasters/windows/chairs and even aurora activated TV clips would make the world feel fuller if fuller is a word and the auto correct is not correcting me so I'll assume it is :)

I know I'm being kinda vague but hopefully you get what i mean by interactive items.

When people make claims about such things they should include a screen dump of their journal.

I suspect that some people have an inaccurate memory.

I assume your talking about @stay puft and although his mind can be clouded sometimes(ask him why his name is really stay PUFT) I can tell you that not only did I see his 3000 day journal but I actually played his 3000 day game so he defiantly did it.

Alot of people have lived that long and longer so I don't know why you think 3000 days is unachievable.

All comes down to scale. A very large toaster would in fact use more power than a very tiny elevator. You gotta put some units and numbers on such stuff. Clearly not a scientist.

    LOL

yeah but no one would make a toaster that big or an elevator that small  :)

It's about having more options... just something that seem like a cool idea, to be honest would probably never use them if they were added

Yeah I feel the same way.

For those who have played Loper, what's your longest run? Please no laughs :P, I can't seem to make it past a weekish! :/ Here's to hoping I can make it to my goals; 50, 100, 500, then a thousand days!

Good luck on your journey to 1000 Loper days !

Longest I've gone is 533 days but I know that @stay puft had a 3020 day Loper run and apparently theres a Twitch streamer that has over 10000 days although from what I heard he spent most of the time just fishing and passing time.

lel, there is not enough power. Aurora is able to barely light up small light bulb.

I'm not a scientist but I'm pretty sure an elevator requires more electrical power then a toaster🤔 ... but then again, I'm not a scientist.

That's right, there is in fact a possible matchbox spawn there. I also found them in the metal container that sits on the same shelf before.  I have a very recent new loper run and didn't find it sitting on the shelf, I'll backtrack to the dam and search for it more thoroughly since I've might have missed it, but I'm pretty positive it is not a guaranteed spawn, much like the matches at the high blind, for example. I'll do some TLD science and give it five or six new loper spawns and track those ML matches, should be quick with PV or FM spawns

Im 99.9% sure theres no guarantee for any in ML but I always seem to find a lot and ya sometimes they might be in the container not on the shelf so technically it's possible to find 2 box's in that spot and I'm pretty sure I have before. I'd love to know what your test runs find.

I've been playing the game for four years now, Interloper almost exclusively. From my experience, before steadfast ranger it was harder to find random match spawns in containers but they do feel a lot more common since that update. I'd wager a guess hinterland have been mellowing Interloper a bit, given it's mostly what the streamers play and many times the first contact people have with the game

Ya I think your probably right about that and I have heard people say before that there seem to be more matches on interloper nowadays.

Good point, but to further the discussion:

Have you ever found loose matches anywhere in ML, or the ones you found where inside containers?

I recall having multiple loper runs and not finding a single match in ML, though this was a long time ago. My current latest start haven't found a matchbox there either, and I've never found loose matches in ML before. This suggests to me there are no guaranteed matches in ML as they're not part of the 'scene', only random spawns in containers, maybe to offset the fact that you can get a maglens or firestriker in ML most of the runs, which coupled with the 75% chance for a bedroll makes ML very OP loot-wise.

You also bring up a good point, may I ask how long ago you experienced this?

Most of the matches in the entire world will be found in containers in my experience and I don't believe Mystery Lake will have many box's of matches laying around the world if any(99% sure of this) with that being said almost every time I go into Carter Dam i will find 2 - 3 in the different file cabinets and desks that are there. I'm sure I've found them other places also but can't remember exact locations.I wanna say also in The Trappers Cabin,The Lookout and fishing huts but can't be sure.

I don't believe I've ever not found any matches in a main region and if it has happened it hasn't many times.

    Hi,

I hadn't played TLD for a while and was really looking forward to continuing my last run. After loading I noticed al lot of the items I had lying around the ML Camp Office were missing. Then I noticed the red box near the door and remembered reading about the lost and found system introduced in the last update. Okay, no big deal. I'll just have to place everything I had arranged neatly around the cabin back where I wanted it.

But after having taken everything from the lost and found box I noticed I was still missing several items. At least 60% of my water supply was missing. Not that much of an issue, but not amusing either. I was also missing all my cups of coffee and tea. Now that was annoying. But then I realized I was also missing all three of my rifles (one of them fully loaded) and both bows! Of all the things to loose..!

I was so frustrated I shut the game down and went and watched some TV instead.

Is there any chance my rifles ended up in some other lost and found box? Is there any way I can get my missing items back? I'm hoping against hope my most valued items aren;t in fact lost forever...

I'm not sure where some of that stuff would have gone but any item that despawns at 0%condition would be gone once it was moved to the lost and found box and you will not be able to get it back but items like water and rifles/bows should be inside not sure why you can't find those items.
