Agree, Piddy - many of the Story mode time limits are vague and not enforced, so you have more time to explore than you'd think.

I've seen one sleeping in the rabbit Grove by Trapper's Cabin. Lazy bear was maybe 50 feet from his den and just decided to take a nap right there!

-Some of the Toxic Fog aspects are buggy. It didn't display the % at all on one map (FM, if I remember correctly).
-Don't bother carrying the rifle.
- This is a perfect fit for TLD as an AU , even if it isn't what I'd want to play long-term.
-The shift from worrying about cold, food and water to managing sleep and time is a neat change-up.

Makes sense - the TWM green fire is located right next to a bear den and a moose spawn point. I got chased by the bear and stuck freezing and sleepless on a ledge after collecting that note.

I don't think this is a bug, but it's Because the Darkwalker can move through walls and terrain, as well as vertically, so it can move to intercept you no matter which way you run.

Did you know that if a bear you've shot is "stuck" and just keeps trying to run into a solid wall, you can fire 15 rifle rounds into him and it won't kill him?Now I gotta go to Bleak Inlet.

The biggies that are worth bringing down are whetstones, sewing kits, and firearms cleaning kits, as they keep everything else new, plus they're fairly lightweight.

Nope, never heard this before - though I play Astrid 90% of the time.
I would totally do this if I was a game designer, though, to mess with players' heads.

Another fast option is to go back to ML, climb the double rope at Lake Overlook, take the top rope, then walk down the hill toward the railroad. You can also do that with the rope at the south end of the lake.

Same here - I enjoyed the 25-day experiment with the extreme temperatures, but I went back to my ongoing Stalker run because Syrup Hunting wasn't fun anymore.

After a run ends, I apparently no longer have enough space to save the stats from all the games I've played, so I have to overwrite an old slot.
Is there some sort of setting that I can change to keep a longer record of my games? It can't take up that much memory.

I scored two Syrups in BR. If that rate holds true for every region, that still gets less than 25....

I got a first-day moose in BR, too. That sucker hung out at the lake for days and wouldn't let me harvest the deer there.
The initial stress of getting warm and clothed is definitely a key part of this experience, also much less opportunity to get outside and do stuff, so my style of play has to adapt to that.

Walking into my own campfire is definitely my least favorite.
Forgetting to check my condition before sleeping has killed me a couple of times, too -usually an infection.
Getting bored and overconfident is the most dangerous thing; it leads you to shoot at bears when you don't have a safe retreat lined up.

Great thread!
The one I always wonder about is the guy on the ledge inside Hibernia Processing in DP. He has a torch, and he clearly went all the way out on that ledge for a reason... escaping something?
