Did it follow you up there though?  I can understand that or if you had a strong scent but pilgrim it's unheard of for me.

I hope you cooked him up😁

Hey, yeah on Pilgrim he wouldn't but Voyageur and above...he totally would.
    I cooked him up.

Did you steal his dinner?😊.  Seriously though my last run before the update I had a wolf just outside the church which has never happened in three+ years of playing.. weirder it was from the left side not the right.

That wolf can fully enter the stone church...that punk got in a struggle with me right by the fire barrel once.

Oh, okay. So there's no Signal Bunker to find in FA then? Cool, I'll go repair the other transmitters. I assumed there was one in FA and I wanted to find it before I leave as it's a long trip them and back. Thanks for the tip :)

I've heard rumors that the last Bunker to find is back in Forsaken Airfield and it's a tough one to find because it's a bit buggy.

But it doesn't become active until you've visited every other part of Signal Void's story first.

Yeah, I've found a few hidden caches on the orange frequency but nothing on the blue/green frequency. I'm close to giving up and going to repair the towers in the other regions. Maybe I need to do that? I thought I could repair in FA, find the bunker, and move on. I too feels like it's a bit of a slog; tough to mark your progress in the fog but you can map during the aurora. So I've decided to skip the fog and only go out in the aurora.

Blue/Green is only for finding the Bunkers that are revealed as you fix Transmitters.

For instance when you fix the Muskeg Transmitter it says to check out a mysterious signal in Bleak Inlet.

I am there now waiting for an Aurora...I will then use my blue channel to find the strange transmission and find what's causing it.

First of all: I love!!! the Tales! It adds so much new gameplay, like a whole new experience of exploring Great Bear! Well done Hinterland - looking forward to the next updates 🥳

@hozz1235 or anyone else who have finished the Tale. Could you answer me a question? (I'm kinda stuck, or just think so)

      Hide contents

I found Bunker Alpha in Bleak Inlet. My questlog updated to "Examine Bunker Alpha", which I did. I found the logbook of Security Chief 14, but the quest didn't update. It still says "Examine Bunker Alpha", even though I rummaged through it multiple times, left and entered the bunker again and even restarted the whole game. Am I just blind and there's more to find in this bunker or should the quest have been updated by finding that logbook? Thanks a lot!

Approximately where is the Bunker....I'm at the MAchine Room in the Cannery. What direction do I need to go? Before I loose this current aurora. Thanks.

The new bomber jackets are pretty damn sweet! Great against wind, while also being decently warm. (but quite heavy)

It's my jam right now along with the Aviator hat.
    I have since found a Wool Toque...Insulated Boots...and a 2nd pair of Wool Longjohns.

    25 Warmth
    11 Windproof with this getup.

Started in Transfer Pass...and have survived less than 2 weeks.

Forsaken Airfield is absolutely a joke. The only locations that have anything of value are the Main Hangar, Final Approach, and the coal tower in the Transfer Pass. The rest is just dead space- nothing of note.

I hope this changes in Signal Void.

I love the wide open nature of Forsaken Airfield...it's the first region that's felt really truly accurate to the area it inhabits.
I love how you can go in very well prepared and get damn near wiped out if a blizzard hits...or a blizzard followed by that Glimmer Fog.

I mean it's no joke in that it's an incredibly dangerous region that can tear you up and spit you out on a whim.

I have to ask...did you find the 8 or 9 lore notes that have been part of Forsaken Airfield since it's introduction?

They hint at strange goings on pointing toward a very very interesting Signal Void.

IMHO Forsaken Airfield is one of the best put together regions...with natural rolling and uneven deadly landscapes...and they haven't had to make many changes at all the to items and hidden locations that already exist which is amazing considering it's vast size.

So, we'd have to play Story mode to do the Tale?

Survival mode currently doesn't have any "objectives" (except to survive however you can).  I would love it if they could implement Tales into Survival but seems like it would be a lot of work.

I'm anticipating Tales will be a standalone experience, just like Challenges.  Hope I'm wrong!

Nah...they've described it as story mode in Survival.

I've been hoping that an objective might pop up in one of my current sandboxes in the Airfield to start the Tale.

However I'm guessing that you'll access them by clicking Survival...and then Stories.

The story in survival is, by far, the thing I've been anticipating the most....since it'll tie back into the Wintermute story.

But do they mean 9 locations around the entire Island ? If so they are going to be very hard to find.

    That's the question isn't it.

If it's a refinement of what was before...it's slightly less daunting.

One fully stocked bunker in ML, PV and Blackrock.

But if it's 3 stocked across any of the regions and 9 total...that's greatly changed. I hope it's the second option.

I must've read it completely wrong then... I thought there were two standard free updates with things like weapons and  new mechanics and the separate dlcs were for the new areas.   Thank you for the nfo

    No problem:

Essentially (on PC) the first release contained: The Transition Zone made out of two regions. And Forsaken Airfield. 3 Rifle Variants, 1 Bow Variant, and one Lantern Variant. 10-15 minutes of new survival music. Loot Refresh (this leads to sandboxes from very unlucky all the way to very lucky). Player Spawn Refresh. Notes in Visors (and other places along with sometimes keys) for lock boxes/memento caches. Some notes lead to permanent map markings for Transition Zones. And also Doe's.

The 2nd Release was pretty thoroughly covered in the March Dev Diary at the top of this thread.

Consoles will get both at once.

It should be noted also that anything listed in the Free Branch Update is also part of the DLC branch.

    SO...

    Bunker Refresh.
    Improved Beachcombing,
Oak Trees (across all regions) and Acorns. Acorn Tea...and Soup (it says you can prepare them for eating.
And fire hardened arrows that can be crafted at a campfire (an I assume fire barrel).

All of that comes to everyone- paid/free we all get it.

  12. Story in Survival for me.

    Also...for Leeanda.

It appears that every other update will feature a new region.

    Update 1 New Region
Update 2 Story in Survival in that region.

So I predict that Updates 3 and 5 will introduce new regions.
Updates 4 and 6 Story in survival for those regions.

Across the updates we get the other small additions...I fully expect the Cougar to be added in the final update.

I dunno about the Prepper Bunkers in fixed locations... was kinda fun never knowing if your game would even have one or not.. regardless, stoked to try out Tales

Every game always had 3 bunkers in any 1 of 9 locations with bunkers in ML, PV and Blackrock.

27 potential locations...with only 3 actual bunkers randomized each run.

Now it seems we're getting all the possible bunkers (possibly at new spawn points) but only 3 of them will be fully stocked. (Randomly with each new sandbox) I'm guessing one stocked one in the region.

Whether the regions are the same as before who knows...should be a lot of fun searching them out.
