But they have? The video is from April 2016, I got the game in June 2016. And what interiors looked like in mid 2016 and what they look like now are very different, with many more details, interior layouts changed (in some cases like Carter Hydro Dam- significantly changed), new furnishings and storage added, etc.

It appears you didn't watch the video. I was not referring to Camp Office changes. I was referring to changes displayed in the video. The only change that did made to the game are the exterior changes.

Let's go explain with pictures what changes did not make it. In the pictures you'll see are the 'updated' interiors which none are in. We still retain the 'original' interiors which is the same old ones you know and have seen.

Most changes appear to be coming from Coastal Highway interiors. Maybe they'll come when the Episode 5 comes out.

In this 'updated' picture, you can see a laptop, a diskette, a trash bin and various other decor such as prize award, cutting boards, blender, etc. The interior does not exist as it still retains the same old look.

In the first 'updated' picture, we see a PC, noticeboard, desk, office lamp, etc.

In the second 'updated' picture, there are more decor, a radio and cardboard on the ground.

More decor, a ceiling fan, etc.

More decor, blinders, a teddy bear, a big clock and gun rack.

From the video, the exterior changes made it to the game. None of the interior changes made it.

  2. I think it's difficult to get players to register on this forum when there are many other social media they can hang around such as Reddit and Discord, those two have a constant growth of new players. I think the future is in Discord as forums are becoming a bit obsolete-ish since you can talk in real-time on Discord whereas on forums you can't, at least not in the same way.
An average lurker MIGHT drop by here, see new stuff, copy link of it, paste it in Discord and discuss right away.

Many gaming communities have moved to Discord servers by either creating one themselves or joining an existing fan-made Discord and get special roles (ie. Prison Architect).

I don't talk much here except commenting on new features/devblogs, (constructive) criticism, responding to someone's comment and modding.

Yeah i pop in on the forum once every few weeks to check if something changed out of curiosity- sadly it didnt but it stopped bothering me. Ive stopped playing TLD 2 months ago and i dont think i will be back to test new stuff if/when it comes out. Ive moved on to other titles. I got turned down/ disappointed by the studio and realised i cant ask or expoect anything more from them coz they will simply not deliver. TLD is on its last breath anyway i dont expect anything new to happen with this title. Great time playing ! but everything has its end.

    Try mods if you haven't.

I agree that the company's communication is weak. They are somewhat active posting stuff on FB/Instagram but that's about it. Raph's last tweet was about their next game, showcasing some short tech demos.

  4. Probably too late to ask because the game already progressed far since Aurora was implemented.

Certain cars have emergency lighting such as the foresters truck and the prison pickups. But, they don't turn on during aurora which kind of sucks. If Lighthouse's light can be turned on AND rotatee 360, I imagine something like that could be possible for trucks too. Something cool to see.

    Thanks.

  5. Looking great so far! I like the idea of exploring a poisonous wasteland of the region. Reminds me a bit of Fallout 4. I am skeptical of this whole 'toxic' wolf though. I know the game is not realistic but do toxic wolves have a place in this very specific simulator game? 😅 - They sound a bit out of place in this game.
    Curious how they'll play out.

You know, this is something which I was hoping one thing: A region taking place in an abandoned city. It would have been so cool.

  6. They stated in 2021 that they would add creator hubs and all that. Never happened. I imagine they didn't assign any developer to contact with the modding communities either. The only thing they did so far is create this sub-section.
I tried to bring it up here but I received a generic response so that's that.

It's fine. Mods still exist one way or another for PC users. I think they help with the game's longevity by a long shot so it's a win-win by everyone's sides. Just wish the developers would finally recognize them at the least. They missed the opportunity to 'promote' the Halloween mod since the developers couldn't bring back their own mode this year.

It's unfortunate for console users though and consoles are not known to have modding sites either apart from Bethesda games.

  7. Tbf, I understand the frustation about the whole 'broken promise' of 8-10 weeks delivery each update. I was quite hyped (but very skeptical) if they would manage to do that.

Turns out while they did manage to release a new update within 8-10 weeks, it also created lots of bugs with some of them being game breaking bugs (ie. cannot exit interiors anymore due to fishing tackles bug) and so on. I imagine this created stress for the development team to either delay content in order to fix them or keep releasing more content with more bugs that could ruin save games entirely.

So, yes. I'm ok with them taking their sweet time. Nobody wants a game riddled with bugs because a team wanted to release content without polishing it out. The team is small and follows no-crunch policy and we should accept that.

I would like to see more frequent dev blogs instead.

  8. I agree that the dev team has been quite quiet over the months if not years. The only things we hear from them are dev blogs and that's about it. I mean, that's nice, really. Raph is active on Twitter and, sometimes, on TLD reddit. I'm sure he periodically checks TLD wiki as well.

I do wish I could see more than that. For example, behind-the-scenes development, fun facts during development, funny bugs the devs found, modding discussion and so on. But, especially modding discussion. There are some games, particularly indie, where the devs discuss enthusiastically about the modding work (regardless if it's official or unofficial) but I don't see that here which is strange because many mods are quite nice and add a flavor to the game. They are popular as well. Like, look at this thread. None of these would be possible without mods. Some recognition would be neat.

Hoping for more communication soon! 👍

  9. I too am concerned with the number of bugs, many of them are obvious - aka doesn't take a long time to notice it as a bug.

Like, I was okay with Raphael / Hinterland delaying part 3 for... quality reasons if I remember right? Well, turns out part 3 has same number of bugs of 2 if not more. I hope they will greatly playtest part 4 before pushing it out, we can be patient. It's better than having your save files at risk of FUBAR.
