Greenfoot_away Posted October 1, 2015 Posted October 1, 2015 Just to be clear, a knife fight will critically injure a wolf, which you can then track via blood trail? I have tried this tactic, but the trail seems to disappear. Is this due to snow covering it up? (It was windy) or are the drops spread farther out from his burst of speed? I believe I have heard the wolf dying as well(a pathetic whimpering howl) is that accurate?
CubertFarnsworth Posted October 1, 2015 Posted October 1, 2015 The trail does not disappear. Many times the animal backtracks and then breaks right or left from it's previous path. Keep looking for the tracks...they are there. Backtrack see if that helps.
druffzilla Posted October 6, 2015 Posted October 6, 2015 Not sure if the weather has any influence on how long the blood trail stays, dont go into a building or harvest anything, that will make it vanish, also shooting a second animal which then leaves a blood trail will make it vanish.I think very steep hills/spots will sometimes "eat" the blood trail too, if you hear the wolf dying then you are pretty close, less then 100m I think.
