random calliope
On Reddit, players have noticed that if they wound an animal then go indoors and back out again the animal dies nearby.https://www.reddit.com/r/thelongdark/co ... mechanics/
FINDarkside
I'm not sure if this has something to do with this bug but the state of wolves are not saved so if you get attacked by a wolf and it injures you and the game saves you can load again and the wold will not be running away anymore. desrocchi
Hm, it happened to me with a bear but I thought it was a random event.I didn't know it's an exploitable mechanic.
selfless
State of animals is saved. When you go inside for a time, the outside world ceases to exist. When you come out again, the outside regenerates from saved data and any surviving animals will respawn in their normal spawn regions. If they were mortally wounded when saved, they will spawn with mortal wounds and immediately die. So even though that wounded bear ran over the horizon, he's magically back at the farmhouse waiting to be harvested. Yea!Other exploit is "load game" after a wolf fight. Since the game autosaved cuz you were injured, you start right at the end of the fight. Keep trying and eventually you'll reload with a wolf that doesn't run but reattacks instead. You now may kill the wounded wolf by hand without having to chase it. Woot!
avendarius
I can confirm this. Shot a bear with an arrow, went inside farmhouse to put bow and arrows away, came back out and hey bear!
Jeremy JPOW Powell
I'll check this out, seems like the wildlife states are being saved properly.Jeremy
