Disappointing Memento cache in interloper

I recently came across the key for the Memento Cache in Mystery Lake, the one in the cave near the Lake Overlook.  I trudged up there with key in hand and a gleam in my eye, eagerly awaiting my new loot.  What will it be?  Some flares?  a candy bar?

Nope.  It was literally nothing.  Empty container.  I know I hadn't looted it before because I watched the unlock animation.

Now I know low loot levels are a key part of interloper play, but for heaven's sake, give me a cattail stalk or a ragged sport sock.  Anything to justify the effort of finding the key and trudging up there again.

 

I don't know if this is a bug or intentional, but either way it's not good.

Same on my 3 runs. Its always empty. I stopped botherimg with them on interloper. I only take rhe one in desolation point , one with the flares.

Hinterland: we’re not going to put tales in interloper because we feel is unbalances the mode

 

Interlopers: WHAT NO FAIR PUT IT IN! We don’t care if they’re empty

 

Hinterland: ok we’ve added tales to interloper with loot adjustments for the mode
