Wolves on Winding River

I'm not sure if this is recent updates, or just the difference of Interloper vs Stalker. But coming down Winding River from the dam, I was surprised that a wolf that came straight up the path, almost all the way to the dam. Given how fast he came, he must have been bee-lining for me, as soon as I stepped outside. I had a piece of cooked meat on me, but I was still surprised it was that fast.

I managed to survive, and instantly ate the meat, to get rid of any smell. But 15 seconds later, the other wolf came running up the path, to come after me. I managed to lose him running amongst the rocks, but I was again shocked at how aggressive they were, or just where they were patrolling. Is this a new pathing? A reality of interloper? Do fresh skins have a scent, that I didn't know about? (I know guts do, and I wasn't carrying any). I also was not bleeding from the first attack.

The second wolf is a bit weird, but otherwise this sounds like the meat. Generally they're pretty happy walking around the ice and eating the rabbits.
