Refilling jerry cans with lantern fuel

It really bugs me to have dozens of .2L of lantern fuel taking up space, and we've already established that jerry cans are refillable through fish so why not from the cans themselves?

It has been an issue for players for a long time - the transfer of lantern fuel back and forth between containers.

I would think it probably goes back to what was likely a reasonable dev assumption that, as opposed to water, the players would not have a lot of lantern fuel (it was kerosene back then and irreplaceable except by finding drops) so there was no need to provide for a means to consolidate it and even when it changed to "lamp oil" and could be harvested by cooking fish, the devs never revisited the matter.

It would be nice if they did but, given all the demands on their time and the game is not "broken" by its lack, they probably viewed it as a very low priority at this time.

I'm thinking of ditching Jerry cans altogether because worrying for them not to run empty and disappear is too tedious.

Yeah that does make sense and part of me kinda wants the devs to slow down work on new content and just release a QOL update at some point.

Shure it would be a nice quality of life improvement I always have dozens of almost empty fuel canisters
