Lone Trekker
Hi again! So in keeping on the Aurora topic... A craft-able lamppost. I dunno about the rest of you, but I very very rarely bring a flashlight with me due to it’s weight and lack of everyday use. So instead I suggest being able to combine a flashlight, car battery, and something like a maple sapling to create a lamppost. You could assemble it and post it outside somewhere, even multiples of them to light your way. It automatically turns on during an Aurora.
Vareta
I guess it would give a use to that damn useless thing... but the idea of using batteries for crafting seems nice maybe certain electric devices could be made though I’m not sure if that’s very lore friendly
Lone Trekker
Well I thought that too. I figured it followed the lore as the flashlight already possess a battery, your basically just ‘giving’ it more capacity.
UpUpAway95
Why not just place the flashlights in the snow along the path you wish to light? I'm not sure if they simply turn on when an aurora happens or if the player has to be there to turn them on. I know I wouldn't bother with building makeshift lampposts and I certainly wouldn't waste valuable saplings on them. ETA: Also, you don't really need light to see outdoors during an aurora. The light of the aurora itself is bright enough to navigate outside. You also don't need light inside many of the buildings since they have lamps that turn on. The flashlights are really just useful for keeping aurora wolves from attacking (I think, it's never really worked for me). Flashlights are garbage

It does come in handy when you don't have any and you desperately need to repair your hacksaw (in places like HRV).
