The Long Dark is my new favorite game! I feel like I've gradually upgraded from exploring Minecraft (creepers everywhere, but death isn't permanent and consequences for dying are usually minimal) to Don't Starve (spiders everywhere, and death can easily be permanent if you haven't taken the right precautions) to The Long Dark (wolves everywhere, and the world itself is trying to kill you).

My longest game so far ended after 87 days, when a series of wolves attacked me while I was in a fishing hut.
