I think this game can just keep adding more and more stuff without too much of an issue, especially if those items are rare, found in specific areas, come with a custom setting, and have a chance of not even spawning. If you're playing on lower difficulties the more the merrier, and guns will never be added to Interloper, so why not?
I'm still hoping for a difficulty between stalker and interloper that has completely random loot tables, this way items like the technical backpack could be anywhere, and there will be no guaranteed matches. The game is supposed to be simulating a crash on an island you know little about, and interloper is so tough that you have to know where matches are. That middle ground sounds like it can be a lot of fun.

Does that always work? I've only encountered a few wolves during an aurora, and I didn't dare trying anything too risky on survival. I tried fiddling with the flashlight during the archivist challenge and I almost died by the radio tower in Forlorn Muskeg. I tried dropping the flashlight to aim a stone but it just attacked me instantly. Honestly, I feel like the bright light should scare them off because they don't run far, and it drains the flashlight so fast.

I'm pretty sure I got this idea from Days Gone. If you saw the little red light flashing then it can either be used as a distraction, or if you weren't paying attention and started looting it, then the alarm would go off and attract a horde. In TLD the flashlight is the only way to fend off predators during an aurora, but they just stand there. They don't even run away. If they are going to add the cougar and even more predators, then we can use a few more ways to fend them off.
Adding car alarms could be used as a distraction if the predators are close, but they can also attract predators if you start looting it without disabling it first.
They can also improve the vehicles too. For example, give the Blackrock vehicles sirens and spotlights. Replace a few vehicles across the island with cop cars that also have sirens and spotlights. Give some vehicles a sun roof to allow us to shoot a gun or throw rocks while inside a vehicle. They don't have to be all over the place, but a few in strategic locations would be nice.
This would also be even better if they eventually had the glimmer fog spread across the whole island. This way we can occasionally use these distractions during the day and not just during an aurora.

1. There was 1 vehicle in my entire 700-day Voyager playthrough that allowed me to turn 360 degrees after getting in it, and if I remember correctly, it was in Blackrock......somewhere. Personally, I love the idea of being able to completely survey my surroundings while taking refuge in a vehicle, especially if I was running from a bear, wolves, or Timberwolves.
2. Put items in more places inside vehicles like the back dash, the pockets behind the front seats, underneath the seats, and in the pockets on doors.
3. Add the ability to use car horns, activate car alarms, or turn on headlights when an aurora occurs. Honestly, I didn't really think this one through, but if going out into an aurora is going to be expanded upon in the future, then maybe we can have a few more ways to either frighten or distract predators during an aurora.

I got into survival games after playing Subnautica, and that game just blew me away. After that I played Grounded, The Forest, State of Decay 2, Subnautica Below Zero, Breathedge, Green Hell, and Stranded Deep, and they were all fun and unique in their own ways. I also played most of these games long after they released so I didn't have to deal with any bugs, and I also played half of them on Xbox and Playstation.
In the end, I'm happy that I played The Long Dark last out of all these titles because it really is a masterpiece. It's a rich and yet challenging experience that takes place in a vast beautiful world that's fun to explore, and after all these years it still has tons of potential. 5 stars for sure.
If I had to pick my favorite survival games of all time, I would pick Subnautica, State of Decay 2, Grounded, and then TLD on top. TLD just has so much replayability that I can see myself playing it for years to come.

I wouldn't mind if they added some kind of airtight containers, and I can see them doing this in the future. If they add a way to use salt to preserve meat, then I don't see why they wouldn't also add a way to preserve cooked meals or ingredients.

Hopefully they will replace it with another affliction or make it so it has a 'chance' of giving a headache, rather than getting a headache 100% of the time.

I made a post about legendary game hunting, and that includes adding the Old Bear. If they do add spears, I think the Old Bear would be a perfect reason why. If there is always a chance that the Old Bear will start stalking you out of nowhere, then it would be nice to have a makeshift spear or the bear spear to fend him off. The makeshift spear would be able to withstand 1 bear charge before it breaks, and it would be great for the early game. If they don't want to go that route, they can also just make regular bears more difficult. Just make them faster and allow them to roam anywhere and that will increase bear encounters and a need for spears.

Maybe they should beef up the ear wraps stats a little and make it a little less rare to find, at least for now. I love the addition of the insulation, but I'm also pushing for the addition of a sewing machine in the future. A sewing machine could be a way of adding insulation to clothing and that could remove it from the accessory slot completely.
Edit: The sewing machine could be a great way of adding extra accessory slots to the technical backpack as well.

Instead of just giving the technical backpack two more slots instantly, maybe they can introduce a new item that permanently increases your slots or add a way to upgrade it. A few of us have suggested adding a sewing machine/station and personally I love the idea.

Definitely an option if they want to go in that direction. They can add more levels to the fire skill, add new blueprints that we can find on the map, or introduce new skills that can only be learned in the mid to late game. Personally, I would love it if they added advanced skills either by getting skills to level 5, completing certain tasks, or by finding books/manuals/blueprints scattered across the map.

This makes sense. Maybe they can make it so that the cursor has to fill up twice/have two rotations. The match actually lights after the first rotation and the torch is lit after the 2nd rotation.

They should move both of the 'prepare acorns' options to the top of the list right underneath 'acorn grounds'. The blueprints that require a workbench should be more toward the bottom.

I love this game and the one only thing that really gets on my nerves is walking into the wind! The wind is UNDEFEATED!
Other than that, I will buy and enjoy any content they release on this game.

I saw this in one of Tomasina's videos. It's crazy to think you can end an entire run just walking into a instakillwall.

I support this idea. I think the game could use a few more uses for animal hides, and upgrading some of the beds across the island could work.

See, on my Voyager playthrough I found all 3 rifle variants, but could not find the bow in HRV.

Some great ideas. I hope they add some more oak trees and maybe even the chance to get 2 or 3 in a patch. On top of the acorn coffee, now they are used in making lures and food. I also wouldn't mind a few more burdock roots.

Another variation of the pancakes w/o syrup would be nice.
I also believe that both Bannock recipes are too expensive. If I had the choice, I would save my flour and make pancakes every time. I would suggest raising the calories a little and dropping the amount of flour needed. Right now, pancakes use .10 of flour while Bannock uses .20, and Bannock takes twice as long to make while also giving you half the calories.

Has anyone had an issue with scent? Sometimes I can be carrying 1 cooked piece of meat and wolves will come barreling straight toward me. It doesn't always happen, but wolf activity seems to increase if I'm carrying any meat even if the scent meter hasn't gone up at all.

This is how I got frostbite for the first time ever. I was sleeping in a helicopter in the Forsaken Airfield with a bearskin bedroll and woke up with my clothes wet and frozen.

Has anyone experienced cattails not spawning or cat tails spawning later? There were times when I would follow a river a dozen times and suddenly come across a bunch of cattails I feel like I couldn't possibly have missed. Then there are times when I go to an area and there just isn't very many there. For example, I just went to the Milton Basin on Interloper and I expected to find a bunch but only found 6 or so.

I just had 2 boxes of 100% condition crackers disappear out of storage overnight. I've never had an issue with inventory or storage items disappearing even though there were times I swore that I had something and just wrote it off as a mistake on my part. However, this makes me wonder how many times this might have happened and just didn't notice.

1. When breaking down objects maybe we can get the option to choose how much of the materials we want similar to carcass harvesting. If breaking down a metal shelf will give me 4 metal scrap, it would be nice to have the option to choose just 1 or 2. This can give us more opportunities to warm up while also giving us more flexibility with time management.
2. I know that one of the new regions is a mine, so I wonder if they are interested in adding a pickaxe, mineral veins, and other related items. On top of the whetstones and the milling machines, I wouldn't mind an option to create improvised whetstones and improvised fire strikers. Instead of making more durable alternatives, maybe we can have the option to create some that are less durable/effective but can be crafted from natural resources. I'm definitely not opposed to more durable options though.
A couple more small ideas:
3. Please move the 'prepared acorns' button to the top of the blueprint tab. Underneath 'acorn grounds' is perfect.
4. Make it so some of the acorn patches give 2 and maybe even 3 acorns.
5. Please consider adding oak trees to Pleasant Valley.
6. Please add a recipe that uses potatoes and carrots and is available instantly.

There is another thread called 'Improve Blackrock' and I couldn't agree more. Personally, I like Blackrock but I think the main prison needs to be bigger, and it can use a reason to keep going back there.
I suggested a stun gun that can instantly end wolf struggles and can only be charged inside the workshop during an aurora. Replace either the milling machine or the ammunition bench with a charging station, and that instantly increases the value of Blackrock and Bleak Inlet.
