Haven't lost interest, but I am taking a little break after completing the "Signal Void" challenge and exploring the new areas.  I'm actually re-playing an older, different game on Switch in anticipation of a new release (Friday!) -- but I know I'll be back on Great Bear soon :)

    Zelda?

  2. I've always though of game developers like the wind - great when its at your back, but it can change at any moment, and there's nothing you can do about it. Now, however, one can give "feedback", and it might even be read! What a brave new world we live in.

Anyway, I was worried for the direction of the game when I heard they were thinking to separate the story and the survival; the survival was why I came, and while the story was good I found myself frustrated with the ending. That said, the developers know best which way to grow - look how Warcraft turned to WoW. I was left behind in the transition, but it was a roaring success.

Whatever comes, best of luck to Hinterland. Ultimately, they don't owe anyone an explanation.

Was in Forlorn Muskeg, left my base in the Hat Creek cave without taking my lantern (but I had my torches). Fast forward 6 hours, the wind blows out my torch and I’m blindly stumbling through the cave, fall, and snap my ankle. I had to light my only flare to make it to the main chamber…

Lol! This is probably how things would actually go for me, if I ever found myself in Will's situation.

Side note on flares though - are they worth the weight? Lately I've been thinking I've carried flares There and Back Again, like they were my precious, but damn... they're heavy! Most times I just drop a decoy anyway.

  4. Everything has an end. Sometimes this works for us, sometimes against.

Fortunately, we live in sort of a golden age of gaming, where more new and interesting titles are available than ever before. I remember the old way of finding games - scouring discount bins, hoping to find some developer who understood what I was looking for. Like how I discovered Westwood Studios, and Paradox Interactive. TLD will still be here when you feel like coming back again. : )

  5. Welcome!

I'm afraid, RingoA, now that we know you're an artist - I humbly request to see you draw Will Mackenzie as a furry. I believe that the world does need this right now, and you're the person to make it happen. I do promise to love it, whatever the result. : )

Maybe not draw him as a wolf though - the irony would be too much for poor Will. : D

@xannaI see a lot of bunnies hanging around corpses and carcasses , especially at night ..so that'd work😁

Side note - I remember reading somewhere that bunnies, deer and other herbivores will sneak a mouthful of meat here and there, when they get the chance. Apparently, this is a real thing.

Lord, bless this Thy Hand Grenade… I’m ashamed to admit I’ve forgotten the rest of that scene :D.

With which we may smite thy foe, in thy mercy. Amen.

    I'm pretty sure. : )

Hinterland is aware of this unfortunate event and seem to think that Lost and Found should have been triggered.  That would have been better than what actually happened even if ruined items that could be lost (i.e., food) were lost.  If it was a bug that impacted us that sounds like they would be looking at an update to fix that if it can be fixed by Lost and Found.

I had much of what I got from the plane crash site and the Summit stashed in abandoned prepper cache along with coal and miscellaneous stuff collected from the area.  If it was off the beaten track and not on the main route to Timberwolf Mountain from Pleasant Valley it would hurt but I might be able to get over it easier.

If not for the lost contents, the revamped abandoned prepper cache does not look bad though why anyone would tip shelving and a file cabinet over on its side is beyond me.  Just like the slightly tipped file cabinets in the farmstead which makes them unusable and nothing can be done to take them apart like shelving.

Well, I understand why the look - it's meant to communicate chaos. As to why just push stuff over instead of opening it/searching it? Because you're robbing the place and need to see everything on those shelves laid out in front of you ASAP, so you can GTFO before you're caught. Easiest way to do that? Dump everything on the floor. Sometimes when police raid a place, I believe, they do this same thing.

So really, when you see that tipped furniture, it should hint dimly at danger.
