In my game, human corpses that I swear were not there before, are suddenly appearing. Two in the Idle Camp.

I'm brand new to the region, and set up a base in the Idle Camp after thoroughly -- and I mean thoroughly -- going through it. The next day, I started looking around the immediate area, did some cartography, then went back to the camp to sleep.

The next day, I after breakfast, I go out and do some more exploring. Glimmer Fog sets in, and my shortwave goes off. I tracked down a supply cache

      Reveal hidden contents

    at the Boss' Camp

and on the way back to the idle camp I notice there are crows feathers on the ground near one of the two bunkhouses. I look inside, and there's a corpse in the shower room that I swear on my life was not there before.

Similarly, I found that there was a new corpse for me inside the Concentrator in the employee break room (in front of the fridge) that wasn't there before. This was after unlocking some doors in the mine.

16 days in ZOC on Interloper, haven't found the darn Foreman's Key yet.

Explored the whole mine, all mine buildings, and most of the region. But must have missed that freaking key. Aargh.

Darn wolves are hard to deal with. It seems like torches are not guaranteed to work. I've been using blue flares, and so far, no issues with fending wolves off. But only have a few blue flares left, so gotta be really judicious.

Trying to survive 50 days in new zone, having brought nothing in. Food is going to be a challenge.

    -t

Food isn't as scarce as it seems at first. There is a bear spawn and a few deer/rabbit spawns. One bear and a buck will last you a significant amount of time. You can travois a load of meat to a cave, cook it up, and bring it out as needed...or haul it back to wherever your safehaven is. You'll obviously need to contend with the devil spawn wolves to transport it...but fending them off isn't too much of a challenge.

Edit: Also, without spoiling anything, some things require the Buried Echoes quest to be advanced in order to do other things. This zone was built around the idea of you coming here after finishing Signal Void, so use that knowledge to lead you forward. :)

Where’d you find a sport bow?

I found a miners flashlight and I’m over to moon! Just need the foresters revolver that didn’t make it on my existing and I’ll have it all but I’d love another sport bow

The Sport Bow was down in the Mine. I can't remember the location, but it was next to a dead body and had a couple arrows next to it.

Very curious as to what the descriptions are if you click on them.
They sound most like the effects from eating certain Frontier Cooking recipes, like stews that are filling but make you groggy (increase fatigue).

These were the descriptions here, nothing more:

Nourished: You feel sustained after eating a meal.
Gorged: You feel weighed down after eating a meal.

Edit: You were absolutely right, I forgot that I took a bite from the Breyerhouse Pie that I made. I just tested it again (as that's the only cooked item I have been carrying, and that was it!)

    So, to answer the question:

Nourished increases Max Condition (I'm assuming)
    Gorged lowers Max Stamina

Hmm...I haven't see either.  What did you eat to induce those conditions?

Order of operation, in case these are a bug and shouldn't show up:

    • Harvested a ravaged wolf for some meat
    • Got attacked by a bear
    • Patched bleeding and ran back to an indoor safe spot
    • Ran down to cook the two pieces of wolf meat, ate both (which filled the meter)
    • Drank birch bark tea
    • Slept
    • Cleared up an infection I forgot about from a bear attack
    • Checked conditions and noticed this
  6. Alright, time for my impressions:

    • Level Design is top notch; from the overworld, to the mine, and even the scale/layout of the buildings are all fantastic!
    • Aggressive wolves who are silent when they attempt to sneak up on you is a nice touch
    • Story is mostly good, though the ending felt a little disappointing
      • The coughing of Will/Astrid when reading the note was of interest!
    • As someone else pointed out, the harvested animals artwork looks great
    • Cave mouths in the new zone, when viewed from the inside out, actually look like what is outside instead of generic rock formations
      • I really hope this continues throughout the game because it's a very nice touch
    • Extra Sport Bow found in the zone leads me to believe this one may not just be a single unique item like the Woodwright's Bow
    • New Afflictions should be detailed a bit more for players

  7. So...I noticed this tonight, and I think it's the first time I've ever seen these conditions, Gorged and Nourished.

Nourished: You feel sustained after eating a meal.
Gorged: You feel weighed down after eating a meal.

I didn't notice anything considerably different while having these, and only stumbled across it after needing to patch up following a surprise Bear/Wolf attack outside the mine. Anyone with info?

Wait, weren't there knives and hatchets variants planned as well?

    This is correct!

    TOOL VARIANTS

Unique, custom versions of existing in-game items, each with a history and its own distinct tuning. Special versions of Rifles, Bows, Knives, Hatchets, Lanterns, etc., to be found in the hidden corners of the world.

Aren't all planned variants in the game at this point though? I think it's marked as complete on the roadmap.

The Insulated Flask is a separate item on the list. It's going to probably take the accessories slot, if I had to guess.
I wouldn't be surprised if there were new variants that show up, maybe another bow, or a different type of tool.

  10. My assumption is that they are on a 3 month cadence, based on all that was said in the dev diary.

With that being said, they put out details of Update 3 the a bit over a week before its release, and the video came out on the same day as release.

I'm speculating that we'll probably hear something mid September for a late September release.
