  1. Maybe those mining apparatus?

With the aurora or glimmer fog already affecting those machines in unpredictable ways. Obviously it depends on what machines they got there, but those could become a deadly trap during an aurora or glimmer fog. It is a bad idea to go in an open pit mine when a geomagnetic storm/electrostatic fog can happen at any time.

Not to mention the run-off, pools of toxic chemicals, maybe a cougar stalking the zone and the earthquake that hit Great Bear Island (which very likely caused the mine to collapse, making it even more dangerous that before).

I wouldn't be suprised if this region is far worse that Blackrock and Bleak Inlet (in terms of region's hostility.)

  2. Noisemakers are almostly useless against TW while an aurora is present. The morale bar is barely affected ("tested it" in my custom run with both the TW morale and wolf fear set to low)

Bears, on the other hand, can be scared as long as they didn't spot you and you are somewhat close to them. I don't know if it works even if they spot you, but i can confirm that they won't run away if they're charging at you (ended poorly for me.)

Still, noisemaker are great against TW during daytime or to hunt some ptarmigan if you don't have a bow (with 1 noisemaker is possible to get the whole group of them, as long as they're close to eachother).

You don't need to go to that much trouble. Any old jar will do. Just take a scrap of cloth and cut it into a strip for your wick, then ram the jar full of as much extra scrap cloth as you can find to soak up the fuel so it doesn't leak. Punch a hole in the lid to run the wick through, then just pour your accelerant of choice in (naphtha is recommended but gasoline, kerosene, lamp oil,  90% or higher alcohol) and light it. Will stay lit for probably a good hour, maybe more. Once the fuel is exhausted, the wick will burn up, but the burn will stop at the lid and it'll put itself out.

Yeah, this idea came from a yt video i was. Then i just went to google improvised lighter and it turns out you can make lighter out of practically anything (well almost).

I figured the rifle casing was the most fitting for TLD if something like this was planned, but also to make it also useful outside of making new ammo (like the revolver one).

  4. Since now revolver casing do have a purpose outside of making new ammo, i was wondering what rifle casing could do.

A lighter made either in the ammunition workbench or milling machine, using 1 rifle shell casing, 2-4 scrap metal, 1 tinder/cloth (for the wick) and 1 stone (simulating the flint since there isn't any in the game).

The lighter would act like a lantern with less fuel in it. You can use it either for firestarting or to simply provide some light, but not only you need to refuel it but overtime, after being used quite a bit, it will require to replace the wick (with tinder or cloth) and the flint (with stone).

In terms of fire starting, obviously it would be better than matches but less efficient that a firestriker.

Does anyone know the name of the ghost in the penitentiary who follows you around helpfully closing the doors behind you?

Since the ghost seems to be friendly, i think it might be Franklin (the warden of Blackrock penitentiary).

Killed by Mathis gang there, i guess his soul remains there?

Provide more possibilities with renewable material. Today, many things can be only be made from material that do not renew (besides beach combing).

That's probably what the trader will do.

  7. Yeah, TW deserve somekind of soundtrack when they spot you.

But if eventually HL will add it, i really hope it won't be anywhere near the sound that plays when normal wolf and bear spot you. That soundtrack is a bit irritating, well at least for me.

I have broken the crates and checked the safe.. no nuggets.   Actually I ripped everything up I could.

Weird, it usually spawns in the safe, atleast in that type of bunker.

Perhaps the nugget spawn is affected by difficulty, or it has a chance of spawning.

I have the first one of those in mystery lake . I didn't find any gold though.  I've not even seen a bunker with that second layout in  two separate runs.

    Thanks for the info.

You're talking about the small one? If so the gold is hidden in the safe which is in the corner of the bunker behind the ladder (you must break the wooden boxes behind the ladder and the metal shelf)

@A Lamp So they're meant to be there then?  I've checked all caches except hrv and not found one.   And I know it should be empty.

I forgot to tell that those 2 bunkers with the gold are the full of loot ones. Both of em are covered with papers on walls and, if im not mistaking, there should be as well a backpack of the forest talkers. So if you find a bunker with the walls full of paper and a forest talker's backpack, it's probably one of the bunkers with the gold.

I've put 2 links that opens a yt video made by Lithar who explores the 2 bunker that contain the gold (in one he didn't find it because he didn't know about the secret safe behind the boxes.) Keep in mind only one of those bunkers spawns with the gold and it and it could spawn in different regions.

  11. The gold nugget spawns in 2 different bunker (of which only one of those bunkers spawns PER sandbox that contains the nugget)

The gold can be found in:

-The small bunker with many papers attacched on the wall (behind green boxes, in a safe)

-The bunker with papers on the walls but with the hallway (hidden in the vents behind the ladder)

  12. Wish i could make some wooden figurines to play with, or talk with them, you know to remove the loneliness from Will or Astrid surviving months if not years.

But honestly, just anything could go as long as we have an option to not stare at an UI showing the calories used and the amount of hours going down.

Even instruments to play some of our favourite TLD soundtrack (which there was a mod that added a guitar and a harmonica back in 2017-2018 if i remember correctly).

  13. Overall i think industrial mine (named Langston Mine if i recall on the sign in transfer pass) would be a cousin of Blackrock.

Since the runoff they mentioned would probably be something like the river in Blackrock (aka instant death if happen to fall in it), the poisonous gas like in the last prospect mine and the new pools of toxic chemical.

However one thing i think they will add is the chance of getting the "invisible disease"  they mentioned in SV's tale as an afflition, and obviously the "thing" that caused all of this.

Nevertheless, Industrial mine/Langston mine's tale will be really interesting.
