  1. Yeah it is. Like sometimes you can craft the animal clothes at night during an aurora, and then all of a sudden with the same amount of light, it won't let you. Same with mapping. Not sure what the trigger is that allows and doesn't allow it.
  2. Using tools and crafting indoor during an aurora is kinda inconsistent. Sometimes you can, sometimes you can't. As a side note, not sure what level you play, but the difference on curtains between a knife and by hand is like a few minutes, I suggesting saving the knife condition (especially if on loper) and just use your hands.
  3. Sprinting actually does work, if you have a way to lose them out of sight. If you can sprint around a large rock formation and almost circle back behind them and go a different direction, they lose you and just go back to wandering around. The best way to deal with them IF you see them first is crouching, and this goes for timbers as well. If you crouch you can get way closer to them without them seeing you and sneak by them. Even with meat on you, the normal wolves with jog towards you and get REALLY close before they actually react to you and go into a charge. If you have lvl 5 archery or a gun, you can shoot them easily since they jog straight at you as opposed to the juke they do when they charge. Without meat on you, they'll ignore you altogether until you get close. I use this method for the timbers near the lookout tower in Bleak Inlet and can walk right by the pack to the tower without triggering them. And yeah, baiting is now more a minor distraction than a way to actually get them off your tail. If you do bait, don't just stop and watch them, they'll ignore the bait and charge. If you drop a decoy and keep going, usually they'll take it and then wander a ways off.
  4. Jumping should be a thing with the same limitations as climbing, can't do it while encumbered. With as easy as it is in this game to become stuck in places you can't get out of, taking off your gear and being able to jump over a tiny rock that somehow completely stymies you would be a nice addition.
  5. I thought maybe that was it, but been trying to click all over, can't find anything.
  6. Yeah, I will, but it's not going to help me at all. They're going on holiday shutdown starting tomorrow, so unless I want to not play for 2+ weeks, I'm pretty much screwed on this. I just checked the lost and found area for FM that they use for updates and nothing is there.
  7. So this just happened The Long Dark 2020.12.20 - 18.06.23.02.mp4 Spent several days cutting and collecting a ton of scrap metal and cloth from Milton then went to the forge in FM and made a bunch of knives and hatchets. After a few days of this I slept and then quit. When I loaded back in the save, you can see all the gear I just forged, except for one knife, disappear. Reloaded several times and it's the same thing each time. Anyone have any idea where they went or are they just gone forever?
