  1. Perhaps it's a real bugbear? Sorry, another bad pun. I think I'm not too bothered now as I got my second bear skin for the bedroll, but the thought of 40kg of food disappearing along with hard-won, hard-crafted arrows galls somewhat. I've got the bearskin coat, and I'll have the bedroll. I'm not sure I want a second bearskin coat, although the extra 2 degrees warmth over the wolf coat might be helpful.
  2. Thanks, yes, I don't want to restart this run as its an interloper and one of my better runs. I killed a further two bears in ML and they both sort of disappeared. One was under the leaning tree again over the pond - I let him run on the spot for a while then shifted my position to see if I could hit him with another arrow and he shot off towards trappers. I later followed and searched the entire corner of that map from the pond to trappers to the railroad and there was nothing, no crows. Another bear in a similar spot - trailed him and his blood trail just ran out and again, after a ton of map searching I can't find him either, no crows at all. I will admit that I might have missed him, but it seems a bit unlikely. I travelled to MT and killed the bear around the bridge/cars. Trailed him for a bit, lit a fire, slept for one hour, woke up and I found him easily on the road after the bridge. I know there's a good deal of randomness to the way they run, so the ML ones could be there somewhere and I missed them, but it feels like they disappeared too.
  3. Thanks, @LeeandaI had a bear also disappear on me underneath the leaning tree by the Unnamed Pond. I was perched on the tree and had shot the bear a couple of times. The bear was trying to run away but was jammed up against the tree, running into the snow and the tree. Suddenly the trampling noises of his paws was gone and so was the bear. It's most annoying - I wish Hinterland would fix it. At least with this latest debacle I got my arrows back. The tree-bear took my arrows with him. I've also had around five arrows just disappear entirely, after a head shot. The wolf/deer falls sideways and the arrow goes into the ground, never to be seen again. I've been checking and checking the same spot to make sure the arrows don't come back, but so far, nada. Also pacing in and out of the Mountaineer's Hut the bear that was interested in me was teleporting about the place which made me very nervous. I think it's something to do with animal's position or state getting reset after you enter or exit a building. I think the Trapper's bear had just died when I left the cabin but failed to actually die and show up in the stats. The tree bear I can't explain, except perhaps that he ran into the fabric of the world and got absorbed by it. Attached is a couple of screenshots of another weird bear 'reset' where the bear died 'in a tree' and later after I had gone into Trapper's to warm up and come out again to quarter him, he had shifted - presumably the engine decided he shouldn't be in the tree. If I recall, I think this bear was 'break-dancing' up against the tree in an aurora like he was stuck. I had kept him in range by picking up raw meat to get three stink lines, and he was trying to come to me at Trapper's but he was jamming up against the tree. Arrows are relatively difficult to make and I would appreciate it if they didn't keep disappearing. An animal falling sideways might break an arrow but not drive it into the world never to be seen again. Disappearing and invisible bears are just weird and frustrating. Lastly, this final bear actually mauled me at the start of the encounter as my sound was low and he crept up on me (never again!). So I got mauled, my clothing got damaged (like 6 degrees warmth loss on Interloper which is a major issue) and for nought. Hinterland had those red lost+found boxes by doorways in one version (they don't seem to be there anymore). Can I have a red box with a bear hide & 40kg of meat please? I could then make a bear bedroll and keep warm 🙂
  4. Outside Trappers Cabin I shot a bear three times, dodging into the cabin and waiting for a minute or so - i.e. one shot, into the cabin, wait 1 minute, head out and repeat. All three shots hit the bear. The final time I came out of the cabin I saw the arrows momentarily suspended in thin air as if they were attached to an invisible bear then they all dropped to the ground. I slept for an hour and checked the stats - the bear did not die. Looks like a bug to me. I wish I had a video of the arrows falling to the ground - it was like a surreal cartoon.
  5. I was playing Pilgrim and got to around 120 days - hanging out a lot in BR. I shot a bear who ran and died wedged up the hill in a rock around what I remember to be the Locomotive Engine area. I was cooking his meat up and instead of passing time, I went for a little stroll further up. I managed to access a mountain area which was pretty cool - there was a 'saddle' area and it looked like I was wandering around in snow covered peaks. All of a sudden an unrealistic straight white horizon appeared and I decided to turn back, since I didn't want to wreck my run by glitching and falling off the edge of the world - perhaps - I wasn't sure if that was the case or not, but I didn't feel like it was worth risking things. So anyway, that was a few months ago, and I just created a custom run in BR on pilgrim again, and I can't get up there - I'm wondering if it's been patched or perhaps I had crampons which made a difference? I don't think I had those at that time though. I also tried around the Landslide area and also walked all the way from the Broken Bridge to the exit looking on my right for a way up and there are only two places I could see. One is by the Loco and I could only get so far. You get to a point where there are bands of snow and rock and I'm pretty sure I could just walk over the rock before, but now it seems impossible. The other place is above Landslide, where there are lots of tree trunks at crazy angles. I can get onto a rock which has a gap to the next rock above me, separated by a small jump, but even with a run up I can't leap over the gap with enough height to make the walk up possible on the other side. It's driving me a little crazy. If it was patched by the developers then that's fair enough. But I'm wondering if I've missed it or clothing makes a difference - boots, crampons and the like. Anyone else been here? Cheers, Woodspiral.
  6. Yes! And the odd single shooting star. Awesome idea, and actually reminded me something else I wanted to say but forgot. If you look up at night there are no recognisable constellations. It would very easy to take a public database of star position and magnitudes and plot them on the night sky. The aurora is done *stunningly* I would say (having seen the real thing I'm comparing with reality here), so it would be amazing if we could have a real star field up there as well.
  7. Thanks, it's ok - I can work around it. It's only the matches that's been a problem so far, but I'd never drop an arrow head or bullet case! I like this location for a base - easy to get in and out of - quite protected from wolves (although one seems to spawn in the main prison yard a lot) - not an issue on Pilgrim obviously (in fact a bonus now my cooking is level 5). I also like the ammo making and the auto closing door - plenty of space/containers tables too. One thing that is slightly irritating is that there are some boxes that you can't break down, but it's better than living with a frozen corpse in the Camp Office in ML on some runs 🤨
  8. Thanks @Leeanda! Another screenshot shows the issue. The dropped gut is below the floor level, so the actual floor level and display floor level are out of whack in this space. Not sure if it happens elsewhere, but I've not noticed it before.
  9. So hunting around with the cursor I was actually able to recover both sets of matches I dropped, but they were invisible. I've attached a screenshot of the situation.
  10. Don't drop matches in there - they seem disappear into the floor. I contacted support about this. Anyone else notice this in other locations? I know if you have a bear roll or similar and drop a small item on it, then it ends up underneath it which can be pretty annoying (not to mention illogical!), but with the case of the workshop, the floor seems to be absorbing the matches.
  11. Would be a great item to use for sleeping outdoors - it could boost temps by 5-10C Also a pretty common item to find in cold climates so would fit with the mood of the setting.
  12. Would be good to have more effects like - Rainbows - Glory effect (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Glory_(optical_phenomenon) - Sleet - Thunder & Lighting - Wildfires (like the ash canyon) Cheers, Woodspiral
  13. Excellent, thank you, Hawk. I confirm it's interaction with Catalina that is causing the issue - I downgraded to Mojave (10.14.4) today and the game is back to normal. Perhaps there is a bug in Catalina. I don't like this version of the OS anyway - Apple dumped the Dashboard. Boo! -David.
  14. Hi, I haven't played TLD for a while and played it a couple of days ago. Before running it updated to the Episode 3 version. During the time I wasn't playing I also updated MacOS to Catalina 10.15.1. Now, when I play the game in full screen mode the graphics are all glitched - there are horizontal blocks of colour around the edges and interlacing effects. By tweaking the resolution down to around 800 x 600 (or thereabouts) it worked once, but after a restart it did not work again. Running in a window, however, is totally glitch free and I can run the game at the highest resolution (it's a bit slow but it works fine). Does anyone know why this is happening? It's a shame there was a game and OS update and I suppose it could be either that is responsible. All other games and applications play fine in full screen mode. TLD used to play fine in fullscreen before the Ep3 and OS updates. System report follows: ==== Model Name: MacBook Pro Model Identifier: MacBookPro13,3 Processor Name: Quad-Core Intel Core i7 Processor Speed: 2.7 GHz Number of Processors: 1 Total Number of Cores: 4 L2 Cache (per Core): 256 KB L3 Cache: 8 MB Hyper-Threading Technology: Enabled Memory: 16 GB 2133 MHz Boot ROM Version: 262.0.0.0.0 SMC Version (system): 2.38f8 Graphics: Radeon Pro 455 2 GB Intel HD Graphics 530 1536 MB ==== I went through the graphics trouble shooting tips on the support pages, but no luck. Any clues appreciated. Regards, David.
