Using fishing line for snares?

In the title. I understand the use for gut, but it's a bit of an inconvenience for new characters to have to find an animal, nearly freeze trying to harvest guts, then having to let them air-dry for days before use. When in reality, you could just grab a fishing line from one of the ice fishing huts and rig up a snare with it at the work table the same day, have some fresh meat the next day.

True. But in this game you make fishing line from cured gut anyways...

Though, it is a common find in fishing huts which are present in every map except DP. I don't find myself crafting fishing line often, I just usually look for it
