Shelters Degradation and more

Hey there... Was curious, and am hoping to see the degradation of shelters. To the point that one would have to make repairs to sustain the living space. Also wondering if there would at some point be the integration of temporary shelters. In the BoyScouts. We were taught to erect makeshift shelters using sticks, leaves, mud and more. Hell, this is Snow! Igloo's for Christ sake would be better cover than nothing.

Also we could fix up that drafty Alpine Hut on TWM!

Caves don't need much maintenance do they? What about bats? Or rats?

Certain construction could have some dynamic to them, like repairing that mountaineer hut roof and closing blinds or fixing those propane tanks that are attached to some houses or performing minor repair jobs in town houses(log cabins are simple and solid, they can last for decades if not centuries) or cleaning chimneys(that could have effect on heat output and duration), etc.
