v.244 Windows 10, xbox controller toggling left/right D pad

After updating to windows 10 the xbox one controller alternates its d pad directions left and right. I first noticed it because my character was lighting matches for no reason. (Someone owes me 3-4 matches ) When I checked the game options on controller I noticed it was toggling on/off on/off. Due to the direction toggling, it moves any setting that can be moved with left/right.

I reset the game and from the main menu checked the settings. They are fine until I touch the controller and it starts to toggle and will not stop. I can reset the game again and use the keyboard and turn the controller off and it seems fine. With windows 7 I had no issues.

I will reinstall the xbox one controller drivers and see if that helps. No other games I have display this issue. I will continue to trouble shoot this issue to ensure its not just me.

After uninstalling the control drivers, and reinstalling them it works as intended. I suspect it was a PnP issue since I saws an error in the log. Windows 10 owes me 3 in game matches.
