interiors flicker black

Graphics glitch:

The interiors of buildings go black. All I can see are the window light beams. If I move around the graphics flicker in and out of existence.

This is in the coastal highway. Misanthrope's Cabin.

Dropping from ultra to high graphics seems to fix it. I'm not sure why it manifested now after any months of play?

Does running the game in DirectX 9 mode on ultra fix the issue?

Right click The Long Dark in your Steam library -> Properties -> Set launch options -> paste in "-force-d3d9" without the quotes -> OK -> run the game.

Since a few updates ago TLD defaults to DirectX 11 and that causes problems for some players due to their hardware.

I'll give it a try. Going from ultra to high seemed to work for awhile then it bugged out again.
