It seems to me that a trip wire rigged claymore could be crafted out of 1 tin can, 0.10kg gunpowder, 1 match, 1 cured gut, 2 scrap metal, 2 sticks.

Great for taking out bears in interloper when short on a bow and arrows, and you don't have to be in the location. Similar to Rabbit Snares. 

Also great for rigging near timberwolves and breaking the pack's morale.

Bad if you forget where the trip wire is......
