Whiteout test question

It is known that 30 days are given to complete the whiteout test. But what happens if you don’t have time to collect everything before the 30 days expire? Will the game continue, but only with a constant snowstorm? Or will a black screen appear with the words “you lost”? What will happen?

I haven't actually waited the full 30 days, though my guess is that the game will simply end. I expect that the devs won't want the player to just suddenly have to die to endless blizzards and the lack of resources.
