Dried meat to reduce scent

Greetings All!

Suggestion:  Ability over time to dry meat and fish.  Maybe with a drying rack.  It would need to take days ( from 1/2 to full time of curing the furs the animals come from) and may or may not take salt.  
 

Cut weight to 1/2, remove scent, but would drain 2-3 times the amount water that eating the same cooked meat would.

Thoughts?
