Questions about Pacifist

Sometimes when I'm in a fight with a wolf he runs away when I've hurt him only by 10-20%. In regards of the pacifist achievement I wonder if wolves do always bleed out, even from a little scratch or if there's a threshhold above which the wolf will survive? Meaning: can I fight a wolf and still get the achievement or does one scratch on a wolf mean game over?

Also, can this achievement (or any) be gained on pilgrim?

[EDIT]: the last question I can answer myself now: yes it appears all achievement can be done in pilgrim (except for exploration, which doesn't work for me in any mode).

How about the vehicles? I would expect you need to enter all of them as well, but I didn't get the achievement. Burned down houses would explain a lot too!
