Now that we're going to play as dr.Greenwood I thought sutures would be a nice addition to the first aid mechanics. Just saying, wounds from a bear attack should need more than just a bandage, and it could also be an alternative to bamdages. A sewing kit could be harvested into several suture needles and thread, fishing hooks could be.a second choice needle and thread could be a byproduct of harvesting clothes and stuff for cloth. You know, using guts to patch up skin seems wrong. Boiling would be needed to sterilize items.
Then I have second thoughts about overcomplicating things and change my mind.
