Suicidal wolf

I remembered something weird that happened at the beginning of my current Wintermute game. As I was nearing Milton a wolf attacked, and Will slashed it with the mighty shard. At the same moment the already nasty weather turned into a true blizzard. The fleeing wolf immediately turned and attacked again, getting killed in the fight. It was so fast it can't be the typical un-scaring. I'm sure it thought "It's better to burn out then to fade away! Death before despawning!"
