Intrepid Explorers for Day 2?

Sounds like most people hunkered down for Day 2 (which was wise!).  I spent the day ducking in and out of Quonset to gather firewood (to stock up water) and killed 4 wolves (for meat and boredom).

Now that I've gotten the badge, I think I'm going to create a 2nd game to recklessly explore!  Has anyone else ventured far from their Hidey-Hole?  Found anything?  I'm curious to find a stash or 2 to see what's in them.  Here goes!

Started in the same place as Day 1 with, I'm pretty sure, the same gear.  Road to DP is still blocked.  Found a rifle stash at Silent Clearing.  So far, seems the same, with the exception of the wolf packs.

From Camp Office to PV farmhouse (so far)... Hiking, collecting stuff and shooting wolves that have any objections  Thinking about braving the pack with flares though - do they work properly on the red-eyed-demons?

Flares work great.  Although, I did run into a wolf going from Silent Clearing to the Abandoned Lookout, that after he barked, I lit my flare and he attacked me anyway, so...

Through the cave onto PV.  Dropped down to the falls cave, quick stop at the Crossroads to warm up, then across to the Picnic Area - no lantern here.  Looted the cave and am currently at the bunker.  Haven't found anything new so will likely stop for now on this save.
