Doc Feral
I may have just invented an exploit, I want to test it unless someone else already did. Exploits are evil, so I'm not suggesting using it. You cook meat with a campfire. You time the fire duration so that it lasts just enough to cook the meat. When you go with the mouse over the meat an azure message will say you've cooked the meat. If you click on it you'll get the cooking experience. But what if you don't? Will the meat count as "work in progress" thus being frozen (or better smoked) in time? This may mean it does not decay while it's left undisturbed on the stones. If that's so, it may be a way to establish decay-proof snack points, with a couple of immortal steaks on the rocks. Which is not particularly relevant when you're level 5 cooking, but may be useful before, or in story mode. I'll have to test it, and say it's deer jerky. Doc Feral
It works. I cooked two deer steaks on a campfire in a cave, picked them up after two days and they were still at 100%.
