question Episode 2 "Lake Gunshots" quest

I just completed the Lake Gunshots quest in episode 2, and I chose to steal the ammo from the forest talker in the cabin at the end of the quest. Since the forest talker died outside as a result, the documents he had on him were ruined. What would those have said if I had left his ammo with him? Would I have gotten a better reward if I hadn't taken his ammo?

indeed deer hide pants...i didnt know that if you take the ammo the guy dies
