Snares "standing up" indoors

This is something I've noted way past, it does not happen everywhere, but at least in Trapper's and the Camp Office it does. Quite irritating. I place the snares on the floor, but some of them stand upright.

Open inventory with hotkey "i", select them with left mouseclick, then click button "drop". I don't "place" them like I do outdoors.

I had just noticed this as well yesterday, unfortunately I can't get a screenshot anymore cause a wolf got me.  This was in a house in the coastal highway zone.  Screenshot attached is the house in question, but facing away from the door.  I didn't know if this was by design but it was 2 snares I had just dropped on the floor, not placed in any way, just like the OP has described.
