Journal stats on an older save file

The save file I am currently playing was started before the Timberwolf Mountain update. When I page through the journal to past days, I will eventually reach pages that say "No data for this day."

Does this mean my stats page is only showing what I've done since the update?

Yes, the stats only started being tracked after the update was released.
