My guess with the photomode, me can hang pictures on the wall maybe with picture frame, it's come also with the base customization, but we will see....
That's my guess... I could be wrong / am willing to be surprised, but the idea of it I'm not particularly looking forward to.

Yeah it's also an addition I'm very much looking forward to.
I'm... curious... about the photography thing, mostly because I personally don't find it that interesting, but wonder if there's an angle I'm missing (no pun intended) which could still make it fun to explore.

Oh also: Spelunker's Lantern, my beloved. It burns much less fuel than normal. 1 Liter lasts you 6.66 hours with it instead of 4
Very worth it searching around Timberwolf mountain's caves for it if you want to burn less fuel overall❤️ speluker's.
Also, there's a million flares in the region, enough imo to use some as light source to explore the mine.

If I have to pick one it'll be the cooking.
Close seconds: the variants, ptarmigans, and beachcombing.

On my obsolete prior run, I found them all. It was a fun challenge!
One has to be methodical I presume... I find myself half-collecting them, but suspect it's not good practice in the long run ("Have I found this one before...?") 😅

Cairns seem to be the "last" thing to try and achieve... have some of you found them all? I would guess so?

My longest run ended yesterday. 694 days. I think the second longest was 409? and these were the only two above 365.
I feel much less distressed after losing that one, however, as I pretty much did everything I wanted in the game, got all achievements, etc. So in a way it all feels more relaxed now...
But anyway, happy "birthday" to your run! 😊

In my last post I actually completely forgot about a couple of places I just literally never go to, because I always go to BR through TWM: Keeper's Pass North & South...

While sharing the hopes for news I would like to remind all how little money we paid for this game and how much we have gotten in return over the years. It is the best deal you ever made.
Fire up the game - go to an overlook and drink your best coffee
For sure!
Yesterday I was actually thinking I'd actually very happily pay for every new region, even if it was DP/BRR small...

Always interesting reading such posts, I personally like the ghost town aspect of Milton... which was part of the reason I saw no point in something like HRV, but once Signal Void took me there I really saw and appreciated the "pure nature" feel of it. It just feels more bountiful (for lack of a better word) than AC which just reeks of death to me.

Ash Canyon is a place I only go with great reluctance. Clearly my least fav region of all.
-
Seeing as one just got added to Drift Island, somehow I wouldn't expect any more such additions...
It is true that it is very difficult to make a reliable fire outside in the region, I always assumed it was by design.

The longest I've gone without playing a run is two days lol..
Not since you've started playing in the first place, or...?
I agree that it's felt pretty quiet around here lately...

Position yourself somewhere where: a) he can't reach you, or b) you are on a ledge with a place to drop down to where he can't reach you. i.e. use the landscape/terrain to your advantage.
That makes sense. It's always felt like such a minority of cases where that would actually work, that I've just defaulted to using the rifle for bears and moose.

On Passive wildlife, it's all about position and crouching (since they scare so easily). I'll use the rifle until lvl 5 Archery then almost exclusively the bow due to the bleed-out (except Moose, on which I will always use rifle). If you look around enough and spot a good, safe sniping spot in the prey's path, it's actually quite easy to safely get a shot in, then wait for the bleed-out.
I agree completely, the only issue I have is that with a bow I need to be close enough that, once hit, the bear will immediately (and with confounding speed) charge at me and maul without (seemingly) any possibility to avoid it...
Otherwise, for the stats: 548 days / 57 bears / 14 moose.

I do prefer the moose as I'm a bit of a chicken when it comes to bears..I hate the cut scene ..
I hear you, it's the same for me. I had a REALLY hard time with Wintermute ep2 for that reason.
I tried to bear / moose hunt with a bow at some point but would ALWAYS get mauled / trampled after the first arrow. Not sure how it's done outside of being in an unattainable spot that would also be at close enough range, which can only be a tiny fraction of the opportunities you get...

I've always thought these "inconsistencies" were purposefully meant to get (new) players to learn to not use things for their face value, but for their "actual" properties in the game. Condensed milk does not keep forever; the hardhat will actually not protect you the way you think; etc.

Mind you I do find it odd that not many people have mentioned it.. maybe it's a console issue
Playing on Mac / Steam, and haven't seen more than 1 bear there in a while...

...I don't know... to be honest.
Perhaps if they have taken down and are eating prey, you might be able to provoke an attack similar to other wolves when they are feeding.
That's about the only thing I could think of... and if you've tried that already; then never mind. That's what I was thinking, but I've never got attacked by a wolf in pilgrim, no matter what I do.
(Strangely, I managed to play for a year without getting attacked by a bear, no matter what I did, and it changed recently, with me getting mauled a bunch...)
