They addressed that in the DLC option instead, so there are multiple ways to get the content.  Unfortunately no option will be perfect for everyone but it sounds like they are trying to make it as reasonable as possible.

I personally hate this so much. I just want to be able to buy something and then have it unlocked forever, not have it be taken away if I decide to stop paying. Who the hell voted for this??

Hi all!  I’m Curie and I’m a Long Dark streamer on Twitch!  My partner Puffy has never played TLD before and I have 2000+ hours in it.  As a fun challenge we have been doing “Blindfolded Loper” - he plays an Interloper run while I guide him completely blindfolded.  It’s an incredible challenge of my map knowledge (and his listening skills 😂) and it’s an absolute blast!

We are about to stream our “Part 5” - a run we have at day 9+ after having just forged in Forlorn Muskeg!  I invite you to both tune in to my twitch on May 7th at 8pm EST for that stream (we imbibe in adult beverages and goof off while we play) and to try the challenge yourself with a new player!  It’s so fun and a great way to get new players introduced!

Do you know if there is a limit on how many frostbites you can set for yourself? I tried to do a challenge once where I get Astrid down to 10% so she is constantly stumbling around, but it was hard to keep her down there.  This might be a good way to do it!

@Leeandayes exactly.  It would be cool if you could craft some sort of defensive mechanism with “spikes” from teeth that would fend off animals faster.  That would be a fun addition!

A few other players and I were chatting the other day about possible ideas for accessories and we thought it would be cool to have something specifically for escaping wildlife attacks (or fending them off once they begin).  Either something like a scent masker for lessening the chance of attacks, or maybe some sort of armor piece for your arm that would be one-time-use or get easily ruined but that would keep the wolf's teeth from penetrating your clothes and give you essentially one get-out-of-wolf-attack-free card.  

Also unrelated and not useful, but being able to craft a bear tooth or wolf tooth necklace just as bragging rights, or something with a deer or moose antler.  Purely cosmetic, but could be fun.

Hi all!  I've been playing the Long Dark since July 2015 and feel like I should start interacting more with the community.  I love how supportive and helpful this community is, so thanks for all the questions I've had answered while lurking.

I mostly play Interloper mode at this point and am trying to finish up getting some of the Steam achievements.  Right now I'm doing a run to get the Wrapped in Furs achievement (and maybe a few others).  I've actually started streaming it - I was inspired after my friend streamed his playthrough of Wintermute and already I've gotten so much help from other lovers of the game!  A+ to all the tips and tricks, especially for escaping wolf attacks.

Excited to learn more about this wonderful game, and can't wait until the 4th installment of Wintermute!!!  BlackRock here we coooommmmmeeeee
