that all makes sense, especially finding one in a prison.  however I think the points people raised about HL not massively overhauling the firearms system also have merit.

one possible option could be a carbine- essentially the same mechanics, sights, even ammo as the existing rifle, but a benefit such as lower weight (which would be consistent with the benefits gained from crampons/technical backpack in the last update).

as HL have also moved more towards one off gear such as the crampons, maybe survival mode could see a single carbine available in Blackrock to entice exploring there, especially for long game players looking to maximise weight savings?

That would make sense. One of the main reasons for players not using the rifle is it’s weight :)

  2. It’s best to reach level 5 cooking before consuming too much. I have had to eat some on occasion and have gotten the affliction with 2%.  The worst thing about the affliction is the time. It’s all wether you want to take the chance. :D

  3. Typically my playstyle is very nomadic. However, I could see the need for a long term base. A base like this would have to have a sustainable food source that wouldn't disappear. Trappers cabin and the camp office both have sustainable food sources being the ice fishing, or the rabbits and deer. Either one would be a good pick. As for mapping. I tend to not use the in game system.  I find that better maps are available on the web that have more details. Since your on voyager, crafting is not really necessary. You can find supplies around and lots of good clothing on Timberwolf mountain. Good Luck!

  4. Wolf encounters can be deadly. You should try your best to avoid them as often as you can. Crafting clothes is also necessary in interloper. Most players use bear skin coats because they are the warmest. Good Luck!

I'm sure you'll get a feel @NickBeast17 for the place that suits you. I shun the weekly wolf culling of Quonset though I like to visit the area to fish. Sunsets on the Muskeg are spectacular and it's nice to camp on Marsh ridge. I find a holiday at Monolith lake particularly life affirming.

    Sounds Good!

We currently do not have a date on when the store will reopen. This will largely be determined by conditions in our home province of British Columbia and when we feel that it's safe to return to working regularly from in the studio. Most of our staff have had at least one round of vaccinations at this point, but the province is still under some restrictions around travel and work.

The best advice we can give is to be patient, and to keep your eyes on our Twitter account: twitter.com/hinterlandgames

If we have anything to announce it will appear there.

    Thanks! Appreciate it.
