  1. Longest run is just over 250 days.  I have no desire to find all the cairns or even map everything.  I usually complete all the achievements I care to long before 250, then I get bored with the run and start a new one.
Current interloper is at 65 days, completed signal void, and  it’s the longest Interloper I’ve completed. Tedious.
    But it’s a challenge 🤷🏻‍♂️

I have no idea what to do during the days after 250.  500 seems a long way away.

I like the teepee ,looks neat.    I'd rather use the maple saplings for that rather than the travois.

It even came with the moose included! 🙂

Op said, I guess water right after melting should privide a bit of warmth for a reduce period of time.  which technically wouldn't be possible as the snow just has melted and would not yet be boiled.  So no, since the player can use the water purification pills when the water has melted, but has not yet boiled.   anyway...

But did you like the gif…?

  4. So how about a couple things here, we currently only have the snow shelter as an option.
How about adding a Mountaineer/backpackers Tent, with a similar difficulty in obtaining it to that of the Technical Backpack?  It fits the area and the lore for sure.

For interloper - Animal Hide Teepee.
Difficulty for this could be a a bit much but: 2 Moose hides and 4-5 maple daplings?  Or an alternate idea of 5-6 deer hides and 4-5 maple saplings.
Also, would REQUIRE a Travois for transport.

Some reasoning on this: A backpacker tent should be a “one-a-game” item.  The benefits are obvious - 15 sticks/5cloth/45 minutes and frostbite fingers for a snow shelter… When those random blizzards kick up the middle of FA or PV open fields the added wind chill bonus would be a life saver.  Useful for Timberwolf and likely Mountain Pass.  No protection from bears or wolves like the snow shelter though :)

The TeePee fits well as a craft able item for interloper, providing the same benefit of shelter as the backpacker tent.  However the weight of the thing becomes the balancing factor.  Could have a fire inside the tent, this would protect from wolves.  Not bears though, so keep your scent meter down….  Would need to be repairable with cloth like the moosehide satchel, otherwise the degradation after use would make it untenable.
Unless it was a deer hide tent, those are plentiful enough to come by.
An animal skin teepee would provide warmth and wind protection, 30-40 hours to craft??

    Well said!
Exactly that.  It's just basic science.  At the point the last of the snow melts, we are only half there in the "cooking" cycle before the water reaches boiling temperatures and is considered hot.  The player can stop the "cooking" cycle at the point the snow has melted into water and treat said liquid with water purification tablets.  The water is then potable but is certainly not hot and most definitely not warm.

Doesn’t this reasoning then contribute to the OP’s point?  If you boil the water to the POTABLE point, it would’ve been BOILING water.

I’m sure the devs kept that out for balance of play, but in theory, it’s boiling water.  So it’s hot.

We have lanterns already! You don't need a fire!

Thank you for your opinion.  I appreciate the OP’s opinion too.
    and @Leeanda’s opinion.  👍🏼

. These would be  place-able items to light up buildings and alow players to perform tasks that require light even at night.

I like the idea, and it provides an additional option.  I think it could balance well as a long lasting source of light, but at a considerably lower brightness output and no heat value.

These could work well for nighttime crafting or reading for research without requiring breaking down every piece of furniture in the house for fireplace fuel.

You could get Salt from holes in the ice like the Fishing Shacks, break open the ice and grab a few bottles without the risk of taking a cold swim.

That’s the most reasonable and implementable way 👍🏼

Lol...  I've had enough dunkings already....

I'm not even going to contemplate doing it in a bikini lol😁

They added a bikini to the clothing list??  What’s the warmth and wind break rating? 😂😂

I agree.... As long as we don't have to take a massive risk of a dunking to collect the sea water ..  😁

That’s part of the challenge! 🤣

While sharing the hopes for news I would like to remind all how little money we paid for this game and how much we have gotten in return over the years.  It is the best deal you ever made.

Fire up the game - go to an overlook and drink your best coffee ;)

Hoping for another birthday after i’ve already had decades of them doesn’t mean i’m NoT appreciative of the previous ones.
just means I’m hoping for another one

We definitely need the ability to salt meat so it can be eaten on the go. We get salt, we get meat. Combine it in the crafting page, then we need to let it cure for a couple of days. The draw back is it makes your water level go down.

This has been suggested in a few threads I believe, and it’s a good idea.  The ability to distill sea water for additional salt would be a welcome companion.
