  1. Find the revolver, learn the hip-fire method. TheLongDark 2020-10-31 23-43-36.mp4 Timberwolves that are bleeding out will not attack you. aiming at Timberwolves/wolves with any weapon will cause their path to be unpredictable. they say hip firing is inaccurate, but it's actually more accurate than regular fire. just offset. at 20m or so the bullets land dead center of your screen. (that should say 10m, not 15m)
  2. here's the thing though, Directly below the break in the tracks, there is this ledge it's a lesser fall than Desolation Point's Broken Bridge and falling off that will only take about 50-60% condition. So I'm thinking they extend the ledge a tiny bit. remove the kill barrier, and just have you fall onto that. while losing about 50% condition to the fall. maybe have some sort of 1-way cave that leads to the ravine bottom. I guess this sort of boils down to the game design philosophy of The Long Dark not matching up here. Ideally, a single mistake is never what brings you down. but a culmination of mistakes. Like a wolf fight isn't what kills you. it's the mistakes of not having protective clothing, forgetting a weapon, AND getting into a wolf fight that does you in.
  3. I've been playing The Long Dark since 2014, about a month before CH was added. I've followed this game for a long time, and I've been generally all for the additions and changes to the game. One thing stands out to me as... not that great. It's the little "platforming" section between ML and CH, on the trestle. I actually rather like most the platforming in the game, but mostly because an error doesn't mean death. If I screw up and fall in the cannery, I *might* die to the Timberwolves but it's not guaranteed. If I mess up in the lower mines and fall in the water. I can still probably get out before being electrocuted. But the key thing is that I have a chance at redemption. If I move slightly wrong, or my controls lag, or my mouse decides a piece of dust on the mousepad is actually me wanting to turn left to my doom. that's it. game over. thousand day 'loper save? gone. just achievement hunting in pilgrim? cya! Perhaps, a rickety platform below, about 10m. Indicating that they started to repair the bridge after the collapse, but only got started before the first flare. likely to bruise, tear clothing, and probably sprain an ankle. a couple of rock climbs to get back up. that way players are punished. (possibly quite heavily). but the save isn't deleted due to one mistake.
  4. There was a lot of talk about it in the Kickstarter, but it's been very quiet recently If you *really* want to, you can play the game with programs like VorpX. also, from the 2019 milton mailbag
