Does the game look a lot better on Linux, or am I imagining things? Things just seem to be a lot crisper and way less flickering in the distance.

This sort of bug/error must be so annoying for a developer. I feel for them.

Hmm, getting the Blackrock menu. Even after restarting Steam.

Almost got the huge update. I'm on Linux, so let's see if it works for me. Exciting!

Maybe we'll get to use those planks lying around. The impression I get is that the customization system won't be very expansive, tidying up, putting up a shelf or two, hopefully moving furniture around a bit. 

Good for those nights when we can't sleep.

Just going to join the choir here and say that I'm really looking forward to this. It looks like a fantastic update. And I can finally pay Hinterland a little after playing this game for a pittance for years.

There were going to be some sort of side stories, weren't there? Perhaps the Trader is connected to or unlocked through one of them.

That way we could easily choose whether to have them in our games or not 

That would actually be pretty cool. But maybe it would turn the game a little too much into horror.

I can easily imagine the character waiting impatiently for the next aurora, pen and paper at the ready to catch those fleeting messages from the Dark Beyond. They start to forget to eat properly, sleep during the day, and stop leaving the cabin as soon as they've gathered all the tins and ketchup chips they can find.

A bit like your average gamer.

Imagine if one day the automatic broadcast was interrupted by someone trying to say something. Knowing someone was out there and completely unable to reach them.

No, I was just wondering if Hinterland ever mentioned where the music on the radios is coming from. Who is (or was) broadcasting it. Someone on the mainland, I assume though I guess it's some sort of automatic system.

Does anyone know where the radio station playing Bach is located?

There is no other game I've played as much as this, not even close. The atmosphere, the mood, the graphics and music all contribute to me always returning to Great Bear. I don't play multiplayer games, I have a touch of social anxiety and they stress me out, but it's almost like TLD was made for me. And zombies are boring. 😉

The announced additions sound great (the new music too, I'm sure) and there seem to be hints of things I'd love to see in this game at some point or a future one.

Some sort of mental health system where keeping busy helps (maybe just tied in to Cabin Fever) as well as tidying up, having varied meals and keeping a journal. Someone mentioned talking to another survivor on the radio, Firewatch style - that would be really nice.

The game doesn't need a typical base building/Tower defence system, that wouldn't make much sense,  but what about Homesteading? Customisable homes are definitely in that direction, depending how it will be implemented and to what degree, but I'm sure I'll be wanting more 🙂 Players always do, right.

And I want to bake bread, please give me bags of flour, or even grains and a small mill, and ways to make a sourdough starter.

This sounds like a really good direction for both TLD and Hinterland, but what do I know?

I do know that it sounds like I'll have to spend a lot more hours playing this fantastic game, and that I can actually start paying a bit more than the paltry €10.99 I once bought the game for. That really was a steal.

Maybe  improvised  crampons  will be added to the furnace in a future uppdate.

Agree with ManicManic, I really enjoy reading the mailbag. Not only the topics that deal with TLD itself, but also those that touch on related subjects, e.g No Man's Sky above.

Please try not to give Hinterland ideas like that 😱

@hozz1235 I was just commenting on where I found a revolver, but I can see how it could have been read otherwise. 😀
