cooking fish in real life, it is pretty much necessary to clean it. this should be an option. for example, you select the fish in your inventory, go to actions, then select 'clean' which would take 30 minutes to an hour, and would require a hunting knife or hatchet. if using your hands, you would lose a small amount of meat from the fish, as you'd pretty much just be ripping it apart

Basic cleaning of a fish can (/should) take less than five minutes. You just need to slice once along the belly, then remove the guts. (Yes I have done it a fair bit).

Filleting takes longer, and you would waste more meat... but it could be easier to cook, especially for larger fish.

honestly, i wish i could say that i've actually cleaned a fish in my life, being a southerner, but i cant. never actually went hunting either. but im still young, i have plenty of time to do that kinda stuff

I'm not sure being a southerner is a good excuse Bass fishing is pretty big down there I thought?

There are so many ways to prepare a fish, especially in survival conditions.

Main thing is to remove guts, that after some practice takes 10-15 seconds, rest is easy. Were not talking restaurant level on preparation.
